Earmarked for deletion, a change of heart and a revival of the Carrera name proved to be a turning point for the 911. Offered with three body shapes a Coupe, a Targa, and a Cabriolet, all sporting a new, improved 3.2-litre engine.The 3.2 Carrera launched in '83 and, although it was very similar to the outgoing SC, it had numerous technical improvements. The most notable was the new, larger 3,164cc engine that featured a digital Motronic engine management system and Bosch LE-Jetronic fuel injection, raising power from 204 bhp to 231 bhp, with a top speed of 152 mph.This example is one of the last of the G-bodied 911s, featuring the iconic whale tail and the desirable G50 five-speed gearbox.
