Created to be an affordable, practical car for post war Britain, it debuted at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show as the Minor MM with a 918cc engine. In 1952, after Morris merged with Austin to form the British Motor Corporation, the Series II appeared with an improved A series engine. The Morris Minor 1000, launched in 1956, became the most popular model, featuring a larger 948cc engine and a curved windscreen.Available as a saloon, convertible, Traveller estate, van, and pick-up, the Minor was known for its reliability and charm. By the time production ended in 1971, over 1.6 million had been built. Today, it remains one of Britain and Irelands best loved classic cars.HPI CHECK.
