The nameplate might be familiar - it dates back to 1966 - but the Maserati Ghibli ushered in a number of firsts for the proud and heritage-laden company when it arrived in 2013. Using the larger Quattroportes chassis, it was the first time the company produced two four-door saloons at the same time, and more tellingly it was also the first Maserati with a diesel engine. 2013 was a long time ago. The visual differences between the least powerful and most powerful Ghiblis are few, which is very different from how its German counterparts do it.
