LymingtonFinished in the correct period colour complimented with a contrasting tan roof and interior now upgraded with a Rover V8 engine and automatic gearbox presenting well, upright and strong in appearance. Launched in 1968, the Scimitar was the original lifestyle estate designed by Tom Karen of Ogle and stablemate to the Scimitar GT Coupe. The GTE was also one of the first cars to offer split fold rear seats albeit pioneered by the Standard Eight back in 1953. Following established company practice, it utilised a stiff, separate chassis to underpin its lightweight glass fibre body. This example was registered in August 1978 and later, a Borg Warner 65 automatic gearbox connected to a Rover V8 engine was fitted by Tinos Auto Specialists, enabling this car to keep up with all modern traffic. Included in the sale there is a large extensive history file giving details of some of the work carried out over the years. More recently another reconditioned gearbox was fitted, ensuring the driving experience was not interrupted on long journeys. Please see photos and a video.
