Insurance Group 0, This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers at The Brooklands Velocity; Mercedes-Benz World sale on Saturday 29th November. Main Dealer and Marque Specialist Service History. Well-maintained example. Sonorous V12 Soundtrack. The Rapide was Aston Martins first foray into four-door series production cars. While several Astons past-and-present have had four seats, this was the Gaydon marques first truly dedicated four-seater. Built atop Astons celebrated VH platform - the skeleton of some of its most superb supercars - the Rapide drew its styling from the DB9 and DBS, albeit with a longer wheelbase. The first concept was revealed in 2006, and the final production version in 2009; production began in May 2010, with the cars produced at the Magna Steyr facility in Austria, which has handled production of cars on behalf of BMW, Mercedes and Jaguar, among others. The original Rapide was a limited-production luxury saloon car produced by Aston Martin in the early 1960s, albeit under its Lagonda marque; only 55 were ever produced. Our vendor purchased this example in Summer 2024, however a move abroad means he needs to move the car on; he assures us hell be looking for a left-hand-drive version! Hes taken very good care of his Rapide, storing it indoors and ensuring the Onyx Black paintwork and Ivory leather interior presents as well as it can. In previous ownerships, the Rapide has been serviced by numerous Aston Martin main dealers, as well as numerous specialists including Bamford Rose. Showing just under 70,000miles on the clock, the car has been enjoyed as intended, and well-maintained. The Rapide is a model that has aged terrifically, and is beginning to mature nicely in the market, making this example a fantastic purchase for any enthusiast. Consigned by Charlie McCreery
