MODIFIED SPEC with WINCH - SNORKEL - WHEEL SPACERS

MODIFIED LANDROVER DISCOVERY TD5 - OFF ROAD SPEC but with FRESH MOT on purchase - THE CAR; 2002 Landrover Discovery TD5 (5dr, 5 seater) in "GS" specification. Powered by the 135bhp 2.5 litre TD5 engine with 5 speed manual transmission and permanent 4 wheel drive. Proper 4 wheel drive with low ratio and diff locks - These are real go-anywhere vehicles. Finished in blue with grey cloth interior. Good solid example but in off-road condition - Not a show winner but very useable and well presented for what it is. 149k miles with partial service history. THE MODS; Later front end fitted 2003/2004 lights. Fitted with snorkel. Solid steel bumpers (front and rear). Heavy-Duty winch. LED light bar (Roof-mounted and wired from separate switch). Wheel spacers and Heavy-Duty All-terrain tyres. LED rear lights with separate switch. Roof lining removed and sprayed in black. Both sunroofs sealed shut so no leaks. Straight piped - Sounds good and not too noisy. Still on air suspension at rear - New height level sensors fitted. Undersealed and solid underneath. Heavy duty towbar fitted. I bought this car to have as the ultimate tow car and have been using it myself during the summer, but the more recent acquisition of a slightly newer Toyota Landcruiser has meant I am no longer using the Discovery and a lack of space means that one of my cars must go. I am only really selling this car as the Landcruiser is an auto, which I generally prefer - although I do know the manual gearbox in this car is a huge advantage if you plan to use this car off road. The Disco has a braked towing capacity of 3500kg and despite it's tall and wide stance, this car still retains its self levelling rear suspension which is a massive plus if you plan to use this car for towing - Few tow vehicles are more capable than a TD5 Discovery. My Discovery also has the facelifted front end which was launched in 2002 and echoes the headlights of Range Rover models of the same year. This was added by a previous owner but is a hugely desirable mod for this car. The car has a mean look with its steel bumpers, heavy duty winch, LED light bar and huge all-terrain tyres ensuring it is a real head turner. It has straight pipes so sounds as good as it looks but it is not overly loud and does not smoke. It currently is running a mechanical MAP as far as I know but with an EGR delete (according to the previous owner). It performs extremely well and is quite fast for a 4x4, but of course this engine is easily mapped if you do require even more power! TD5 Discos are good to drive both on, and off-road but this one has ben set up with off road capability in mind - That said it happily cruises at 70mph all day and I have personally used it on long motorway journeys without breaking a sweat. This is a car that will literally go anywhere. It is a permanent 4 wheel drive with excellent ground clearance, a low ratio gearbox and diff lock to help you negotiate the toughest of terrain. I have never driven any other 4x4 that feels as reassuring as one of these beasts off road. The TD5 diesel pulls well as you would expect and is on my opinion one of the real highlights of these cars with ist distinctive 5 cylinder warble. The Disco is a big car and wth off road tyres and wheel spacers, ours sits pretty high. The upshot of this is you benefit from the commanding driving position and excellent view of the road which are a Landrover tradition. CONDITION; The car is having a fresh MOT in preparation for sale and I will add some better photos once this is done - There are a few bits of plastic trim missing inside and a couple of rips in the drivers seat bolster, but overall this is one of the tidier examples you will see of its type - Please check out this cars MOT history and you will be pleasantly surprised - That is the reason I bought this car - It is one of the straighter examples you will see in this price bracket. There are some light marks and dents to this cars exterior - It is an off-road tuned example so it is not afraid to get its hands dirty. The previous owner sealed up the cars sunroofs (they always leak) and removed the saggy headlining (now foam is painted black). The car has been fitted with a modern stereo complete with bluetooth phone and music streaming. In my opinion this car has the perfect balance of off-road looks and modifications, along with enough of the original useability on road to make it a viable daily driver! I will add more photos and videos in time as the car is currently having a full mechanical check-over and a fresh MOT in preparation for sale - I am happy to arrange viewings and test drives by appointment and invite all enquiries.
