Retaining the 4.9-litre straight-six engine but adopting an all-new pressed steel body shared with the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, the S1 offered improved performance, space and refinement. Aimed at the discerning motorist who valued both presence and comfort, the S1 remained in production until 1959 and is now widely appreciated for its smooth power delivery, supple ride and timeless styling.The Car:Finished in the rare and striking Connaught Green, this 1957 Bentley S1 presents as a handsome and imposing example. The bodywork is reported to be rust free and in excellent condition throughout, retaining the classic proportions and refined detailing for which the model is known.Originally ordered through HR Owen on 31st January 1957, the car was specified from new with power steering – a desirable factory option enhancing usability and driving comfort.The car has been part of a private collection for the past ten years, during which it has been carefully maintained and sympathetically improved.
