Outstanding service history at Subaru dealer, 29 stamps in book. Driven just over 3,000 miles a year. Built at Subaru's Fuji Heavy Industries plant in Japan and perfected in the UK by rally 'royalty', Prodrive, the Impreza P1 was always destined to become a hugely desirable modern classic Produced in a limited run of just 1,000 examples, all finished in the iconic Sonic Blue, the P1 was based on the WRX Sti Type R and comprehensively re-engineered for European roads. Subaru had a single, uncompromising goal when developing of the P1, to create an Impreza capable of outperforming Mitsubishis formidable Lancer Evolution VI.In 1997 Prodrive launched the two door Subaru Impreza World Rally Car (WRC) and won the Manufacturer's Title in its inaugural season. The WRC97 thrilled motorsport fans the world over and gave birth to iconic road-going versions.Prodrive engineers fitted the anti-roll bars from the European-specification Impreza Turbo, together with firmer springs and shock absorbers, creating a superior suspension better suited to continental roads. Power came from a revised version of Subarus rally-bred 2.0 litre turbocharged flat-four engine featuring recalibrated electronics and producing an impressive 280bhp, a full 69bhp more than the standard Impreza Turbo.Completing the package is the ABS braking, anthracite OZ Racing alloy wheels, and distinctive bodywork styled by Peter Stevens designer of the McLaren F1. Including a deeper front spoiler and rear wing that gives the P1 its unmistakable rally-inspired stance. The P1 was only ever offered in Sonic Blue, a colour like the World Rally cars The mirrors, door handles and side skirts are colour-matched to the body and the way ahead is lit by huge Hella 90mm driving lamps, again from the rally car.A very exciting discovery, this Impreza is number 899 of 1,000 UK-supplied, right hand drive examples It was first registered on 15th September 2000, having been supplied new by renowned Subaru main agent, Bell & Colvill. The cars maintenance record is exemplary, boasting a complete service history with all the stamps present in the original service book. This exceptional provenance one of the finest and most original examples of the model available today. Maintained in a temperature-controlled garage away from salty roads and weather, this example remains in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Finding a P1 of any standard is increasingly difficult in todays market, but to discover one with such outstanding provenance, low ownership and complete service history is exceptionally rare. With Japanese performance icons continuing to soar in value and flagship models such as the 22B not exceeding £200,000, this P1 represents an unrepeatable opportunity for the discerning collector, enthusiast, or purist.Currently part of a meticulously curated private collection, the car is accompanied by a comprehensive history file that includes the V5 registration document, dealer book pack, P1-specific literature, a service book featuring over 29 stamps and a detailed folder of invoices documenting the extensive expenditure over the years.
