In 1994, Honda introduced an extraordinary variant – the Acty Crawler 6×6 – combining the proven mechanicals of the standard truck with an additional rear axle and a factory slip-on track system. Intended for snowy and mountainous regions, the Crawler was a true specialist vehicle designed to tackle environments where traditional vehicles could not venture.Offered between 1994 and 1999, production numbers for the Crawler remain unconfirmed, with some estimates suggesting fewer than 500 units, and others claiming as few as 20 were built. Either way, surviving examples are virtually never seen outside of Japan, making this a truly unique sight on European or UK roads.The Car:First registered in 1994 and imported to Belgium from Japan, this Honda Acty Crawler 6×6 has covered just 18,500km from new. It retains its factory dual rear axles and the distinctive track system, both of which remain fitted to the vehicle. Despite its dramatic appearance, the Crawler is powered by the standard 656cc naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine, delivering 38PS through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Power is sent to four of the six wheels, with the aid of a rear differential locker, making this a 4×6 setup in mechanical terms. The addition of the track system significantly enhances its all-terrain capabilities.The cabin is characteristically spartan, with a functional dashboard and inclined steering wheel, and shows some signs of age and wear in keeping with its use and originality. Cosmetically the vehicle presents well for its age, and remains in largely original condition.This Crawler was purchased at auction in Japan and subsequently imported to Belgium, with Japanese export documentation and proof of import taxes and duties paid. This provides a pathway to registration within the EU or UK.The vehicle starts and runs, but has not been serviced since import.
