A genuine UK-supplied Triumph TR5, first registered on 3rd May 1968, finished in timeless Old English White with a contrasting black interior. Produced for little more than a year, the TR5 bridged Triumph’s evolution from the TR4 to the TR6 — combining the elegance of Michelotti’s styling with the performance and refinement of the new 2.5-litre, fuel-injected straight-six.This particular car, ‘TYP 922F’, is a right-hand-drive home-market example equipped with the desirable four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. It is understood to have had just four custodians from new and benefits from a comprehensive, body-off restoration that is fully documented with a detailed photographic record. More recently, the car has been further improved under current ownership, with attention given to reliability and long-term usability rather than modification.Upgraded components were sourced from Racetorations of Lincoln, including Quaife rear hubs and driveshafts along with polybushing and associated fittings — parts alone totalling around £3,500. These enhancements have been professionally fitted, resulting in a car that feels tight, composed and confidence-inspiring on the road. The interior has been returned to factory specification with original TR5 seats retrimmed in black with white contrast piping, complemented by a genuine TR5 steering wheel. The result is a period-correct, beautifully detailed cabin that feels both authentic and inviting. On the road, the 2.5-litre Lucas-injected engine delivers strong, smooth performance with a wonderful straight-six note, while the overdrive gearbox makes for relaxed cruising and effortless touring. The car will be supplied with a current UK V5C registration document, restoration photographs, and a selection of invoices for recent work. As with all Classicwise sales, a post-sale health check, service and MOT will be completed prior to handover, ensuring the car is fully prepared for its next custodian. This TR5 will also be sold with 12 months membership to the TR Register.
