Auctioned on Saturday 29th November.

This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers at The Brooklands Velocity; Mercedes-Benz World sale on Saturday 29th November. Previously owned by British actor Steve McFadden (Eastenders fame). Good history. The origins of the Corniche came from the continuation of the 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow fixedhead coupe and 1967 drophead coupe, constructed by the famed coachbuilder Mulliner Park Ward in London. The car was named after the stunning roads along the Cote d'Azur in France and was an elegant two-door design available with either a coupe or convertible body. By 1982, the coupe had ceased production, but convertibles continued to be built until 1996. The first Rolls-Royce to wear the Corniche name was a 1939 prototype based on the Bentley Mk. V, although this was never produced due to the onset of World War II. The car used the standard Rolls-Royce 6750cc V8 engine as fitted to the Silver Shadow and had an aluminium-silicon alloy block and aluminium cylinder heads with cast iron wet cylinder liners. The fuel system was in the form of twin SU carburettors which were later replaced with Bosch fuel injection from 1980 onwards. This lovely example was purchased from Hanwells of London in 2017, it has been owned by our client since then and has driven, on average, 3,000 summer miles per year, resulting in it being in much better condition than some lower mileage examples laid up for months/years. It is presented in Tudor Red with cream leather interior and a cream electrically operated hood. It has cream carpets with red overlay carpet and the walnut dashboard and door cappings are in good condition. Its air conditioning and cruise control are fully functioning, a rarity for a model of this age!It has been serviced and maintained throughout our clients ownership by Rolls-Royce specialist Ross Macleod of Mulsanne Motors, Dalkeith, and garaged all year round in a dehumidified garage. There is MoT history with Hanwells prior to the present owners custodianship available in the history file as well as service history from Hanwells. The present owner has spent in excess of £20,000 with all invoices included to show the standard the car has been kept to. An MoT test certificate as well as a 6,000mile service was carried out on 20th May 2025. Interesting to note that the car is valued by Hagerty for £70,000! A truly collectable Rolls-Royce which is so elegant and still turning heads today as it did 43 years ago! Consigned by James Good
