Built under BMW’s ownership of Land Rover, it features the acclaimed 2.8-litre BMW M52 straight-six petrol engine – a smooth, torquey unit producing 142kW (190bhp) and 280Nm of torque. Acceleration is brisk for a Defender, with 0–60mph covered in just 9.1 seconds. Mated to the robust R380 5-speed manual transmission with high and low range, and full time four-wheel drive, this model is widely regarded by Land Rover engineers both in Solihull and South Africa as the ultimate factory built petrol Defender.This example, designated MYL 009 by South African marque specialists, MadeYouLook, has been extensively maintained and refurbished to an 'as new' standard.
