A rare opportunity to acquire one of MG’s most desirable sports cars – the MGA Twin Cam. Produced in limited numbers between 1958 and 1960, the Twin Cam represented MG’s technical flagship, boasting four-wheel disc brakes, revised suspension and Dunlop centre-lock alloy wheels, giving it a unique presence on the road and track.Although this genuine Twin Cam, built in 1959, retains all of the model’s distinctive chassis and braking upgrades. Under the bonnet, it has been sympathetically converted to run the later 1622cc B-series engine – the most developed pushrod unit fitted to the MGA range. This change, carried out by many owners in period, addressed the reliability concerns of the original Twin Cam engine while ensuring the car remained both quick and usable. Today, it offers the best of both worlds: the rarity and pedigree of the Twin Cam model, combined with the reliability and drivability of the 1622cc unit.Finished in Orient Red with black trim, this car presents smartly and is ready to be enjoyed. Whether admired as a rare collector’s piece, used enthusiastically on the road, or even taken on long-distance touring events, it offers a superb ownership proposition. For the purist, the car could be reunited with a Twin Cam engine in the future, but as it stands, it is a highly usable, characterful and desirable MGA.As with all Classicwise cars, it will be supplied with a full health check and service prior to sale. Viewings are welcome at our Nottinghamshire showroom – and the coffee pot is always hot.
