Austin Mini 1980 - 1275 GT 2-Door

Bare shell nut and bolt restoration in 20212022 and carefully stored since; what a cracker! Launched in 1969, the Mini 1275 GT was the 'hot' version of the new-look Mini Clubman and was intended to replace the old Mini Cooper S which duly ended production in 1971, leaving the 1275 GT as the only sporting Mini on sale for the rest of the decade. Not quite as rapid as a Cooper S, it was cheaper to buy, run, and insure. Safer and better equipped than the classic 'round front' Mini, it also featured a close-ratio gearbox as standard. Performance was lively for the time with good midrange torque although the quirky bluff front end kept the top speed down to 90mph. This 1275 GT has been in the our ownership for 4 years and the previous owners (an absolute car nut!!!) since 2017 who had bought with the intention of restoration but just didn't get round to it due to several other restorations and commitments. This is very rare opportunity to purchase the original hot hatch... The Leyland Mini 1275GT with the Clubman front finished in beautiful condition having had a recent full restoration with a new Mini colour combination (Thunder grey), many new parts and lots of new panels fitted. This tastefully modified 1275GT drives superbly, has an excellent original condition interior and gets looks you would expect everywhere it goes! The underside is as nice as the exterior as is the engine bay....
