Citroen SM 1973 (L) - 2.7 Maserati V6 Coupe Carburettor 3-Door

We apologise for the delay in bringing this vehicle to market. Late delivery of the car, of some minor parts and workshop hold ups are to blame but we anticipate the car being available after Christmas break. The Citroen SM coupe was renowned for its distinctive styling, which was carried out in house by Robert Opron with further input by Henri de Segur Lauve and details from Jean Giret. The cars featured advanced engineering, particularly its hydropneumatic suspension system, borrowed from the DS and a Maserati 2.7 litre V6 engine on Webber carburettors. This example is finished in Dark Moccha metallic with nice saddle leather interior and brown textured vinyl roof, the motorcar is very striking. Equipped with unique sculpted seats, front and rear and a centre console housing the automatic transmission selector, switches and the period radio. The speedometer is showing less than 40,000 miles, though we cannot confirm this as being accurate. The hydropneumatic suspension, a hallmark of Citroen's innovation, gives the car a unique ride with a mix of fluid and nitrogen-filled spheres to absorb road imperfections but also provides surefooted handling when pressing on. The car shows some light patina, with minor cosmetic imperfections, which does not detract from the motorcars presence. The motorcar appears to be generally good mechanically, including a working AC compressor. The unique - Button on the Floor - braking takes some getting used to but works well. The SM offer futuristic styling throughout, with a very comfortable and quiet ride. The accompanying history file comprises of several binders containing manuals, receipts and club correspondence. On the road the car exhibits smooth acceleration and an astonishingly smooth ride, thanks to that unique hydropneumatic suspension/braking system, which was licensed to Rolls-Royce in 1965, for use on the Silver Shadow.
