If your borrow amount is £6,000 with a deposit of £1,000, a selected term of 48 months, at a representative APR of 17.8%, you would pay £171.56 per month. Total charge for credit will be £2,234.88 and total amount payable is £9,234.88. CarMoney Limited can introduce you to a limited number of finance providers based on your credit rating and CarMoney will receive a commission for such introductions that can either be a % of the amount borrowed or a flat fee. Pushy, patronising, non-transparent, terrible communication behind the scenes. I travelled a considerable distance to pick up a car in which finance had already been approved for. I was originally looking at a car at the Hinckley branch, but decided against it and notified V12 of this. Apparently they didn’t get the memo because the next day I had a text confirming the appointment. I called and notified them again and was told someone would call me back. I got a call the next morning from Sandro on my way to Worksop asking me if I was still attending the appointment in Hinckley. I explained that I decided to go with another vehicle. He didn’t even try to hide his annoyance. He should have done his due diligence. I even had a text confirming the appointment in Worksop at the same time as the Hinckley appointment. Anyway, so fast forward to the appointment at Worksop. A salesman named Oliver was taking me through everything. At one point he kept asking for bank statements. I asked him why he needed this as I was already approved for finance. He wouldn’t tell me why he wanted these, he would tell me he needed to go to his manager’s office then come back and repeat himself. This happened twice, never disclosing why he needed my bank statements. I got a phone call from one of their other offices while sitting with Oliver and this lady finally explained to me they were looking at different finance options. I’m not sure why Oliver didn’t want to tell me this. So I’ve explained to the woman that I’ve already decided on a finance company as I’ve spoken to them directly already and I’d like to stay with them. On multiple occasions, they have really tried to push “The Close Brothers” on me because that’s one they use a lot. I feel this was really disrespectful that they weren’t fully transparent with me, they should have told me why they needed my statements. I still don’t understand why they couldn’t be open about it. It’s quite intrusive to go through someone’s statements, they need to remember this. Once Oliver finally accepted that I had already made a decision on the finance company he began to go through the different fees. So there’s a paper on his desk with the warranty information. He briefly speaks about it and brags that most companies hide it in their fees, but they don’t do that there. So I’m reading through the details and he’s carrying on talking. When he realises I’m not looking at the next thing he’s talking about, he says my name over and over and over, louder each time. He’s intentionally trying to interrupt me as I’m looking through the details. When I looked at him I’ve told him, look, I’m trying to fully understand what I’m about to pay for, I need time to read through it. He then says that he will slow down and go through the steps slower so I can keep up. That is out of order and completely patronising. He clearly wanted me in and out and to sign whatever he wanted me to sign. I didn’t feel respected by Oliver at all. I wish at the time I would have stopped and asked for someone else. I really regret that I didn’t. Further, Oliver said to me at the time that I was required to buy the warranty. I’m putting it down to exhaustion that I didn’t question this. Obviously it’s not a requirement, but I did buy it because he told me it wasn’t optional. Any faults would be covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which covers 6 months. I bought the 3 month so it’s useless. I would say anyone looking to buy a car from this branch specifically, look elsewhere. There’s plenty more dealerships out there who would be respectful.
