I'd recommend EMG Ipswich to a friend or family because most aspects were as expected. Though I would warn my family members about the MG dealership pushing additional deals with the car. Gap insurance etc. that we did not require. This happened 4 times during the process and once afterwards by phone. Highly excessive!
EMG Ipswich were helpful because Craig was brilliant - from taking me out to test drive my vehicle, to having all the paperwork ready to go on pickup day, and taking the time to sit in the car with me when I collected it and talking me through how the console and controls worked. I felt very well looked after and drove away confident with my purchase.
I would not recommend EMG Ipswich because The salesman, Jack Camp, wasn’t the friendliest character and seemed lacking in knowledge and experience. Despite being advertised on AutoTrader, the car was stored in a remote compound and unprepared. The test drive was accompanied, most unusual these days. We agreed a deal and a time and date for collection. Two days later the salesman phoned to arrange collection, he obviously hadn’t noted it. The car was due a first service before collection. On collection the Navigation wasn’t working. The salesman tried to reset it, but failed. Rather than get a technician to check, he suggested we took the car and perhaps it would correct itself. On the journey home, after about 10 miles the TPMS failed. The following day I contacted the salesman and pointed out the issues, as the dealership is 70 miles from my home, I requested that he booked the car into my local MG dealership (Thurlow Nunn at Wisbech). He called me back to tell me that the car had been booked in for 16th September, over two weeks away. He failed to inform me that he had booked it into Thurlow Nunn at Kings Lynn.
The experience at EMG Ipswich was fantastic. Dan was really helpful and as knowledgeable as he could be based on his own previous experiences with Ford cars. I already kind of knew that that was the car I was looking for and Dan made the whole process from enquiry, to test drive and financing the car really smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend EMG Motor Group Ipswich and will look to return in the future.
