Ford Focus 2014 (14) - 1.6 TDCi 115 Zetec 5dr

UPDATE: Dangerous Brakes! In February 2025, I purchased a Mini from Car Makeover Barnsley. By May 2025, the brakes had developed a grinding noise so I took it to my local garage for investigation. Upon inspection, the garage advised the brake calliper carrier, which should be secured by 4 bolts, was only held in place with a single, finger-tight bolt, rendering the car incredibly dangerous! The bolts on the other brake calliper were also cross threaded. This required two new calliper carriers, along with replacement discs and pads due to damage caused by the loose carrier - an expensive fix! The garage advised that these issues were caused by previous poor workmanship, so I got in contact with Michael at Car Makeover to ask if he would cover the costs, in line with my statutory rights. He made no apology for the dangerous condition of the vehicle he had sold, and accused me of causing the issues with the brakes myself! He did not agree that the car was dangerous, despite the photos and videos I had sent him, along with what I was told by the mechanics. I sent a follow-up message to which Michael did not reply. It is extremely disappointing to be treated with such a lack of care when the car was sold to me with a serious issue, caused by whoever had worked on it before my ownership! ------------------------------------- Original Review: My experience with Car Makeover has been great. I purchased a Mini from Michael, which he made sure was serviced and MOT'd ready to go. During the MOT process, a few issues cropped up with the car, but Michael made sure all of them were sorted before I travelled up to view it. Once I got there, looked around the car and took it for a drive, I couldn't fault it. Knowing I've got a car in great condition, with full MOT and recent service means I can actually enjoy driving it! The purchasing process was made simple, and I got a great car for a reasonable price. Would happily return, thanks Michael.

Sold my dad’s lovely old jaguar in March 2025 for health reasons. Mike was reliable and very easy to work with from the off. Having agreed a price Mike asked if we wanted to keep my dad’s personal number plate. Given the circumstances and despite several suggestions I should ( from Mike) as a family we said it was fine to go. Job done! However after several other family members saying I was crazy I decided to contact Mike in JULY to discuss the possibility of retrieving the registration for sentimental reasons. This is where Mike has gone over and above! . Long story short today I’ve collected the paperwork and have registered the private plate to my car. Mike has been absolutely brilliant , completely honest and trustworthy through this whole situation. I live in Birmingham and I’m so relieved and grateful to Mike for making this happen. He’s not made a penny and car-makeover Barnsley has got a massive 10 stars from me!! I’ll also be making a donation to Alzheimer’s uk for both our wonderful parents.
