Brought my son his first car, and although fine to start with as he hadn’t passed his test, then the issues started arising after 3 months of using, took it back for a handbrake issue, said they had resolved, \xa3600 later whole new handbrake system was needed (out of warranty), and now it’s periodically cutting out, appreciate it’s a second hand car, although I feel (and I’m no mechanic) certainly with the handbrake should have been picked up. Anyway my advice seek for a longer warranty. Funny response, far from accurate, the car has done 1,500 miles since owning as he wasn’t driving when we brought the car, it’s just a honest review, shame and I’m sure it maybe just a one off bad experience, but it’s important to share.

Update 14/05: my car is now getting scrapped, i’ve been told that for the work that needs doing i may as well get a whole new engine, mechanic has offered me \xa3300 to buy the car. i paid \xa32995 just over a year ago. What a disappointing experience for my first car. I wasn’t going to write this review but my mums review got taken down as her name was not on the invoice on auto trader so for clarity i will post my experience here aswell. We bought a car in February last year that had less than 60k miles. Ever since owning the car it has had nothing but issues. During the warranty period, we took the car back due to electrical faults, this issue was resolved for around 2 weeks before coming back. A month after the warranty had ended, the engine over heated. We got in contact with the garage who told us our warranty had ended but if we took the car back they would give us a quote to fix it. Needless to say we called out the RAC as it wasn’t drivable and the work was done elsewhere. The RAC ended up replacing the thermostat and making us aware that the car needed a new clutch. This was fixed at a different garage but we are still battling ongoing issues and the car is in the garage once again as it needs a new catalytic converter, coolant bottle and radiator. We have spent in the thousands on repairs for this car even though i’ve only had it just over a year. update: thank you for your response, i’m not here to argue either but \xa32995 is still \xa32995 now turned into \xa34338 and rising. it’s almost as if your saying i should have expected to pay for these repairs due to it being an 08 car when i thought id bought a thoroughly checked car that wouldn’t need any work for at least a couple of years as there’s so few miles on the clock. i do not need any assistance in fixing these repairs but thank you anyway.
