Extremely unprofessional and dishonest. I paid a deposit to secure a vehicle and even went down to view the car in person. The sales rep assured me that a few minor issues were being sorted out, and that’s what we were waiting on before completing the sale. I was told everything was progressing as planned. In reality, they were selling the car to someone else behind my back. Communication suddenly went cold, and only later was I informed that the vehicle had been sold to another buyer — despite having my deposit and verbal confirmation that the car was reserved for me. To make matters worse, I still haven’t received a refund for my deposit, despite repeated attempts to chase them. This experience has been nothing short of appalling. Dishonest, misleading, and completely lacking in customer care. I would strongly advise others to steer clear of this company. I dealt with Steve (Sales Advisor) and Kenny (Company Director) and my experience has been nothing short of appalling. It has now been over 5 weeks since the sale fell through, and despite countless assurances, they have still not refunded my deposit. Instead of resolving the matter promptly, I have been met with constant excuses – every time I call, I’m told different departments or staff are “unavailable.” To make matters worse, I was even contacted and asked to remove a negative review in exchange for my refund. I refused, as no customer should be pressured into silence just to get back money they are legally owed. This company has shown a complete lack of integrity, professionalism, and customer care. If this is how they treat customers after a failed sale, I dread to think how they behave when issues arise after purchase. Be warned – do not trust Essex Car Group with your money.

Every single person I interacted with was polite, attentive, and truly knowledgeable about their vehicles. They made me feel comfortable right away, without any of the pressure or gimmicks you sometimes find elsewhere. The selection of cars was outstanding, with options for every need and budget. What impressed me most was the time they took to really listen to what I wanted, rather than just trying to sell me something. False promises... messed us about terribly. Agreed a price for my wife's car, then gave several excuses daily about being too busy to come to view/ collect... after speaking this morning to ask if they are definitely coming, Steve says he's out collecting another car and will call me 12:30 ish to fix whether coming this eve or tomorrow morning to collect. No call all afternoon (AGAIN) sent message to him, then get a reply saying 'if we have another interested party - go with them' fantastic! (NOT). The Woman who wanted to see it 3 days ago, has now put a deposit on a different car!!!!!! Its very easy to make promises... very unprofessional to not see them through! ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ADDED 13 AUG 25: The dealer response is a complete lie, and they have said this just to try to cover their AR$3S. The car was perfect and was bought by an Audi Dealership after being messed about by these Cowboys!

Avoid Essex Car Group! Zero Aftercare, Misleading Sales! Bought a \xa350k Audi here earlier this year, sold to me as having full service history. Six months later, the car developed a major fault. Audi confirmed it had never had proper servicing beyond oil changes, voiding my warranty. When I asked Essex Car Group for help, they ignored me. Only when Audi discounted the repair did they suddenly call, pretending to be helpful – yet still refusing to take responsibility. Their idea of “support” was offering me trade price on the bill I should never have had to pay. Performance cars need proper maintenance, and honest dealers back their customers. Essex Car Group offers neither. If you value aftercare, honesty, and your wallet - stay well away.

**WARNING** DO NOT BUY OR SELL YOUR CAR FROM THESE COWBOYS. They will promise you the world but in reality lie, cut corners and leave you out of pocket. Part exchanged my car with these people 3 months ago as they gave a really good price and bought a BMW, this is where the problems started! They still have not paid off my settlement agreement, which means I have been out of pocket for 3 months...never answering emails or returning calls. I am unable to travel to them as I live far and the new car i bought off them has had nothing but problems from second week of taking it home which they are refusing to accept any responsibility. Now it has come up with an engine light! There's a reason they offer you more for part exchange than others...to trap you in and be at their mercy. I would urge everyone to look at their reviews on auto trader too which all seem to be of similar situations.

I’d highly advise to AVOID buying a car from here.. purchased a car to which I had for 1 week and it’s spent 4 weeks being ‘repaired’ and had the same reply every time I’ve asked for an update to which clearly my car hasn’t even been touched or worked on yet. Asked to return the car as I need a car for my family to which I’ve been told it doesn’t work like that. For the style of garage this is I’m highly disappointed and didn’t think this is the type of service I’d receive from somewhere like this.

I part exchanged a Range Rover Sport to buy a newer model, which is absolutely brilliant. Throughout the entire process Steve from Sales was helpful, honest and sorted any minor issue’s promptly. After sales service was reliable with updates were via email or what’s app. Kenny gave us a really good part exchange price. Had a great experience with the Essex car group. Traded my rs4 and Bought a rare and stunning rs5 from them. Deal got done within 10 mins, they didn’t try and haggle. In terms of customer anftercare Anything needed their response is instant and always do things with no fuss, it’s rare to find such great customer service from dealers. Will definitely buy another car from Them.
