This Skyline GT-R has the legendary Nissan RB26DETT 2.6 litre twin-turbocharged inline 6 cylinder engine, well known for being highly tunable. Its power is connected to 4WD through a 6 speed Getrag gearbox and active limited slip differential. The R34 is the fifth generation Skyline with the GT-R, GT-R V-Spec and GT-R V-Spec N1 models being introduced in January 1999. The R34 GT-R V-Spec models came equipped with the 4WD ATTESA E-TS Pro system (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-Terrain) and an active Limited Slip Differential at the rear. Along with uprated suspension with a firmer, lower ride, a redesigned front splitter and carbon-fibre rear diffuser, designed to keep air flowing smoothly under the car. The R34 GT-R includes a 5.8' LCD multifunction display on the centre of the dashboard, which shows seven different live readings of engine and vehicle statistics such as turbocharger pressure (1.2 bar max), oil and water temperature, intake and exhaust gas temperatures, among others. This car has been prepared and tuned at the well known Midori Seibi center in Japan. The average 'advertised' power of the factory car has always been stated as 280 PS (276 bhp; 206 kW). This engine however has been expertly tuned and at the time of testing, was exceeding 400 PS (395 bhp) at 6500 rpm. The car had its speedometer changed at 5,121km in Nov' 2000.
