Auctioned on Saturday 20th September.
This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers at The Pace of Autumn; Ascot Racecourse sale on Saturday 20th September. £14,867 engine rebuild in 2019, just 5,000 miles since. Serviced by Meridian Modena in May 2025. Excellent history file. With a name reminiscent of the 500 Mondial race cars from the 1950s, the Ferrari Mondial was a replacement model for the Ferrari 308 GT4. The Mondial was the first Ferrari where the entire engine, gearbox and rear suspension assembly was mounted on a detachable steel subframe, making engine removal for a major rebuild or cylinder head removal much easier than it was on previous models. The steel coachwork was taken care of by Carrozzeria Scaglietti and built over a lightweight steel box section space frame. The Mondial 8 is considered one of the marque's most practical vehicles, due to its 214hp, proven drivetrain, four seats and relatively low cost of maintenance; major services can be performed without removing the entire engine/transmission subframe. This very smart Ferrari Mondial 8 is one of the 145, right hand drive, UK supplied cars and has been in our vendors ownership for around nine years. The car presented in very good order throughout, the Rosso Corsa paint gleams and has only a few age related blemishes and the interior wears its nearly 80,000 miles very well. The engine was fully stripped down and rebuilt at a cost of nearly £15,000 in 2019, with just 5,000 miles having been covered since. In preparation for the sale, a service has been carried out by Ferrari main agent, Meridian Modena in May of this year. The history file is particularly impressive, neatly itemised with many maintenance bills and old MoTs, tax discs, V5C registration document and original book pack and service book. This has clearly been a cherished example for many years and is very excitingly offered to auction without reserve. Consigned by Fraser Smith
