WARNING TO ANY BUYER. GENUINE REVIEW, PLEASE DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE. I got in touch with Andy at A G Cars, as I found a lovely Mercedes that hit the spot. I've owned this model before, and I've wanted it again for a while. I contact Andy, and we were speaking back and forth on emails. I arranged a viewing, I was happy with the condition (despite only being able to start it, and inspect it as there was no MOT on the car, so a test drive wasn't possible (despite being part of the AA Used Car Promise which says you can test drive any car). I told Andy I'll have it, and I'll get the ball rolling with the finance. He put an MOT on it on the 24th July, and (suspiciously) there were no advisories... this is odd because when I saw the car I noticed all 4x rear tires weren't the healthiest with very low tread, the rear brakes and pads were very, very low and almost borderline metal to metal, and also discovered a suspension clunking noise that wasn't on the MOT either. Picked up the car on the 27th July. I got the train down, Andy was nice enough to pick me up from the station, which was great. I got the car, signed the paperwork and drove home with a smile on my face, I finally got my car back.. This is until 1 hour into the journey home the check engine light came up 45 minutes into my journey, I phoned Andy and returned another 45 minutes later. He plugged his machine in and it came up with a P244A - DPF Bank low pressure. He advised it was likely due to it being sat a while. I put some DPF Cleaner in it as per his instruction, he cleared the code and I drove off. 45 minutes later the check engine light returned, with the ABS and traction control light. I was already very tired after about 3 ish hours of driving on this day. We agreed I'd drop it down two days later for him to do his first fix repairs. This is the point I should've rejected the vehicle, and got a full refund in line with Consumer Rights 2015. Stupidly, I did not. I dropped it to him, I took a courtesy car and left the vehicle to be sorted. he phoned the next day and advised that the abs has been sorted, and that the check engine light hasn't come back on, despite a lot of driving and testing the car, however it is still in the cars memory. he said he'd spoken to Mercedes and that it will need a software update to sort this. I had a doubt, but I wanted to trust him so I picked up the car - it was fine the entire way home. next day, the check engine light is back on with the same code. I informed Andy that I will have to take it to a specialist, as one I didn't want to keep making a 2 hour round journey, and also I didn't trust them to properly diagnose and repair the faults. I spoke to Benz and they informed me that the car wouldn't ever go into limp mode or trigger a check engine because of a software update... and that what I was told wasn't true at all. I took it to a specialist outside Bristol (who I have used before, and I trust absolutely) who confirmed that there were various issues with the car. Brake servo failed, which needing replacement, turbo oil feed was seriously corroded, which is a fire risk and can cause a runaway diesel effect and required replacement. They then later confirmed that the DPF of the vehicle was the cause, and that it was missing from the car. I thought about removing the DPF, instead I had to get a reconditioned one which still fills me with suspense just driving the thing. This was all at a cost to me. I did inform them of my intensions at every single step. They also had to correct the previous repairs done by Andy and his "Mechanic", as they were poor, and likely to cause further issues down the line. So, I ended up paying more than I should've. I am a patient, and understanding person - I knew there would be some issues with a car, especially if sat as it was. I was expecting bushes, squeaky brakes, not a MISSING DPF and other problems! When I asked Andy for a refund on repair, he said to go the legal route. So I will.

I needed a car quickly to get me back on the road after my car was written off in an accident. Andy was extremely helpful in getting the new car (Skoda Fabia) ready for me as quickly as he could. I bought the car in January 2021. It’s now Jan 2023 and (touch wood) the Skoda is still going strong, with just the usual age-related repairs you’d expect to have to do. ( I was driving past AG Cars the other day and that made me realise I never left a review hence doing it now two years on. )
