These imposing Mercedes 300 saloons are often referred to as Adenauers, after Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, who used them as cars of State. They were expensive, elegant, powerful and prestigious large saloons used by the top echelons of society. The 300B was introduced in March 1954 with production ceasing in June 1955. A mere 1450 units were manufactured. LAK 194 was first registered in the UK on 24th December 1954, the first owner being a wool merchant from Bradford, Charles Turner and Co. Finished in black with a red ox-blood leather interior, this right hand drive 300B oozes character and quality. Our vendor acquired this fine saloon in October 2014, as his father used to have responsibility for Mercedes-Benz sales in the UK and he remembers them fondly. Unfortunately, due to a full-on business career this Mercedes has been in dry store since its purchase in 2014, although it has been regularly started and maintained. Reshaping his classic car collection, the 300B is now for sale following a light recommission. FOR FULL DETAILS AND MORE IMAGES, PLEASE SEE OUR WEBSITE. GUIDED AT £30000 TO £35000
