Bought a 2015 Mazda 6 2.2D from them back in January. Firstly, the warranty that came with it had the mileage entered as over 5,000 miles below the actual mileage (which they sorted after I told them about it). After a month, it broke down due to mechanical failure which means it was clearly an underlying issue from when it was bought. I was given a decent courtesy car while it was being repaired but I didn't get my car back until May! It is now August and the car has a mechanical fault again so I am currently pursuing my right to reject the car for a partial refund (since it is technically over 6 months since I bought the vehicle even though it has been getting repaired for about 2 months) and will update this review following their response.

I ordered my car through email with them and they were more than happy to answer all my questions and share details about the car. I got the car delivered and the price was reasonable, however upon delivery it felt like they were rushing a bit. I imagine this was so they could get home at a good time (they delivered to me 6 hours away), however it would have still been nice not to have felt rushed to look over the car and drop them to the train station. I've had the car now for 4 months and have had no issues with it and everything about the car was as described (plus a few extras I don't think we're listed). I would definitely use this company again in the future.

Bought a car 4 weeks ago for my wife and the service and care provided was exceptional. We were shown a range of cars within our category and we were given ample time to consider one we liked. We went for the Nissan Juke and my wife absolutely loves the car and it’s perfect for our needs. Drives lovely, immaculately presented and the customer service was outstanding.

I would recommend you avoid this garage, the experience started badly when we test drove a car we liked, we were promised 4 new tyres as the sidewalls were cracked and wouldn't have passed an MOT only to pick the car up with 4 old part worn tyres fitted (my fault for accepting it but we needed a car quick) We are now in a position where a new engine is required at a cost of \xa33500 and \xa32500 Labour nearly writing off the vehicle, we noticed it using an excessive amount of oil from a few months after the sale and huge engine wear was to blame for blowing a cylinder. Either these guys knew it was a hog of a vehicle or they are purchasing the worst of the worst from auction. Their so called free servicing and MOT from a garage the work with is useless, they find every reason not to carry out the work and dodge any dates that may be convenient, I can't just blame the garage because nothing was right from the start and I should have walked away myself. I would highly recommend an independent inspecting the vehicle before you buy it. I have evidence of everything above.

Brought a car recently from elm and soon after the MOT had been done we found a number of seatbelts knackered and a strange noise when dipping the clutch. The garage elm uses for the MOTs/repairs/warranty told us nothing was wrong with the car or the seatbelts. went down to the mechanics’s garage, confronted them and they accepted fault with the seatbelts and fixed it we didn’t think anything of the clutch. within a week the car began suffering a major grinding noise and vibrations when the clutch was pressed down(indicating a problem with the clutch or flywheel ).. and so we dropped the car off to the garage elm uses, they had the car for a day or two and we was told there was nothing wrong with the car again. we argued and the man on the phone was not having any of it and so we went back to the garage after being told to collect it. We started the car and called one of the team over to listen and the mechanic we called over said “that’s the dual mass” so finally we had got somewhere. the car was taken in and fixed under warranty.. a couple weeks later the car fell into limp mode. we were hesitant to go straight back to the garage and so we called out a mechanic we trust. He found a massive diesel leak from the injector rail and I believe it was the egr valve(I think) that was stuck open/close. Seeing as we still had warranty we contacted the garage and elm about the issues and that the car was undrivable. Nothing but problems with the garage elm uses at this point, we were accused of lying and using a back street mechanic(who might I add is a known and sponsored motor racing mechanic) the garage then wanted quotes from him and proof which he gave and he was told they won’t accept it.. (our mechanic documented everything with pictures included as evidence and repair price plus hourly rate). Eventually the car was taken back to elms mechanics and the work was “completed” when we took the car back after lots of phone calls forwards and back. we were abit hesitant to pick the car up. however we did, and as soon as we could we had our mechanic come over to confirm the work and ensure its safe for us and our 2 little kids .. he found fuel to still be leaking and the ‘egr valve’ that was replaced for new, had been bodged to fit snapping clips and brackets in the process. they also attempted to solve the issue with cable ties and electrical tape.. from this point it was a spiral, we had to have the finance company involved who recommended taking the car back again to have said garage do a write up inspection for the finance company.. this garage had gone out of their way to iron over all of these issues like nothing ever happened but we had the evidence to back our claim, at this point the finance comp wasn’t impressed with this garage .. they took the case out of our hands and the car included(and initiated a request to elm for a full refund from the finance or elm directly.. elm accepted enabling us to have the money back ) …. elm during all of this process had done what they can or tried to meet us halfway atleast to the best of their abilities. If you read this please ensure you thoroughly inspect any vehicle over before and after the free Mot that comes with the car due to the slick greasy fingers of Sutton road MOT garage(elms mechanics). I will add Sutton road attempted to make us pay for some work such as ‘diagnostics, fuel gauge problems and egr/fuel rail repair’ which of course we denied to pay for any repair as its warranty why would we pay? We paid to have the car delivered to them with the fuel leak.. they even tried to charge us for having the car in there yard whilst repairs were done/after completion..

Bought a BMW 6months ago.. since then i had to change rocker cover as pcv valve clocked, turbo leaking oil to intercooler so have to change that now as well, leaking oil to air intake clogged intake manifold so have to change that as well now. Og para brake. When bought it i was told full service was done, still got receipt what was done (oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter etc changed). 3 months after having a car and start having an issues had to take off air filter and ive never seen filter looking as bad as this (will add picture). It wasnt changed for at least 5 years or so i would say. Changed oil straight away as well just in case as couldnt trust full service that was done. Also MOT had advisory for bit of oil on engine and i was told by one of the sellers that oil was just by sump plug after oil change. So oil was actually going through engine end cover gaskets and intercooler boost pipe not by sump plug. I would recommend everyone if you going to buy your dream car from this company, make sure you double check what you buying and dont trust a word what they saying about the car, change all the filters and oil yourself and get extended warranty for 350\xa3 for another year to have peace of mind. Good luck everyone

Recently bought a car from ELM. I'm really happy with the car and the purchasing experience was good. Unfortunately a couple issues arose within the first couple weeks of ownership. ELM covered the costs and resolved the problems for me which I really appreciated. Would reccomend them to anyone.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE! This dealership saw my poor granddad coming. They sold him a complete rust bucket of a car. He part ex for Land Rover, they were shifty in the first instance regarding the MOT and the failures and wasn’t completely honest with my granddad about the failures and advisories. My granddad then had to take it back to the garage several times, and learnt the paperwork for the car had been altered. By this time it was close to the Christmas shut down, the car was ruining ok with an engineer light on, which he planned on taking back to the garage after Christmas! By the time it had been booked it the warranty had ran out! And a few weeks later the car wouldn’t even start. My granddad has now had the car recovered to a Land Rover Specialist who had told my granddad, he’s been completely done over the car is worthless and not road worthy and the car should of never of been sold in the first place. Not a lot we can do without going to the courts and spending more money ! So instead I hope people read my comment and avoid buying from this place!!
