Purchased a Ford Focus Eco boost in June 2024. In March 2025 my EML came on, my wet belt needed replacing and could have completely ruined my whole engine. I rang called the owner twice and left voicemails, shock horror! no reply! It cost \xa31,615.00 to fix! A huge unexpected bill to pay. I'm not knowledgeable on cars, and granted in hindsight i should have done more research myself. However, after having many conversations with the owner prior to purchase, learning about his years in the car trade i felt reassured, although no future car care recommendations was given at point of sale. When purchased, the car had 69k mileage and was 9yrs old. EML came on at 73k and was 9yrs 8months. Looking online, this is what i found. "Ford Focus EcoBoost wet belt replacement is generally recommended every 10 years or 150,000 miles, although mechanics suggest replacing it sooner, around 8 years or 80,000 miles, due to potential premature failure. A failed wet belt can lead to significant engine damage, potentially requiring a complete engine replacement. " For someone who has had years in the trade, surely would have been fully aware of the above statement. If there was some sort of pre sales care with this advice being shared, the car wouldn't have been purchased. I eventually got through to the owner, he clearly had a lack of interest stating he only goes my manufacture recommendation and advised "it is what it is"

When to leave a review for a second hand car? We bought one from Steve 3 months ago, a Ford Ka with 106,000 on the clock and - it is still going just great! Was in good nick too for its age. Buying an old car is always a risk - but I think less so with Steve, he really seems to take pride in matching people up with cars that will serve them well. Reasonable prices too if you compare them with the online markets.

Steve, was a real gentleman when it came to dealing with me. Always very calm and polite and not in anyway pushy. Even though I slowed down the sale of one of his vehicles with my silly oversight when researching the vehicle, he did not judge me and was very understanding when settling the situation. I would certainly deal with Steve again and have no qualms in recommending his services to others. Best wishes, Saul

Spotted a Volvo S40 on Steve's website. Delighted to be able to put down a \xa395 deposit on it as it allowed me time to finish my research and test drive another car elsewhere without any pressure. Steve was calm, measured and the very opposite of the stereotypical car salesman and took me through all the paperwork. The car was well prepared and very competitively priced and thus far (three days in), all is going well.

The best car buying experience I've ever had. Steve was a gentlemen and sorted everything for me with the minimum of fuss. I am absolutely beyond happy with my new car and Steve gave me a really good exchange price for my old car. He really couldn't have done more. Just a top class experience all round. Thank you so much Steve I really appreciate it. Another very happy customer 😌

AVOID!!! To give this place 1 star is to give 1 too many. Bought a car in March and within the same day of owning the car (I drove it home) it ‘clunked’ when reverse parking, it also vibrated quite badly when doing anything around 60mph, so called and let them know and they said bring it back. They replaced the steering column said everything else was fine with it and I went on my way. It still always vibrated at any speed but I put this down to being an older car (11 plate). Cut to 2 weeks ago, as I was driving the car, the steering column fell off onto my foot and I lost all control, I called them up to tell them and initially they said they hadn’t touched it, either they were lying to me originally or now, so I sent them a picture (see below) and they said bring it back. On inspection of the car (Brickfield Car Sales Owner was avoiding me like the plague at this point, I dealt with the garage where he trades from) I was told that it had been replaced and that it was a cheap part bought on eBay and substandard. They ordered me a genuine part and replaced the same day, however as a knock on effect of the steering column falling out the coil within the steering wheel was damaged and needed replacing (no airbag or horn now). I was then told that he would not cover the cost of this and I would have to pay for it. I gave him 3 options at this point, fix it, refund me or court. He offered no apology and did not comprehend (or just genuinely didn’t care) the severity of what had happened, it all came down to the bottom line and by using substandard parts to save himself a few quid could have cost lives. The car is now fixed but at a cost of \xa3200, as 3 out of the 4 wheels were buckled (hence the vibration) and yes you can argue that it is wear and tear so I paid for the work to be done, however the car vibrated from day one so I highly suspect it’s another point which was used as a cost cutting exercise and not properly dealt with. Do not put your trust in this person to sell you a road worthy vehicle, he’s only out for your money!
