1 Previous Owner, Fabulous little Fiat 500 expertly converted to Jolly specification in Italy. imported here in 2022 and UK registered super condition. The subject of a complete re build, drives beautifully the very essence of La Dolce Vita. Thought up in the Sixties. The brainchild of Fiat boss and playboy Gianni Agnelli, the Jolly was designed to fit on the deck of his 82ft yacht Agnetha and provide him with a fun way to scoot around the beaches and golf courses of the Mediterranean coast. Light enough for the crew to load and unload, the first 500 Jolly was built by Ghia in 1957 and proved such a sensation that a further 500 or so were made for rich and famous clients like Princess Grace of Monaco, Aristotle Onassis, Elvis Presley and Yul Brynner. Based on the platform of the Fiat 500 saloon, the Jolly had a strengthened chassis floor plan so the doors, side windows, roof and rear window could be safely removed. The standard interior was also junked in favour of minimalist wicker seats that would shrug off wet and sandy backsides. Despite being half the car, the Jolly cost twice as much as the regular 500 but price was hardly relevant to the glitterati who bought it. In fact it became such a status symbol that Ghia could have quadrupled the price and still sold as many as they could make. Although Ghia production came to an end in 1966, such was the demand for the Jolly that a whole cottage industry grew up among specialist Italian coach builders who still to this day convert them for wealthy customers. Lando Norris is a big fan and is often seen zipping around the backstreets of his Monaco hometown in a baby blue Jolly conversion identical to this one. Based on a 1970 Fiat 500 this gorgeous Jolly conversion was built in Italy, there are a few photos showing the build in progress .free to tax and MOT exempt just fun to be had. Despite not needing one, it has an MOT until September 2025 with no advisories recorded. in wonderful condition throughout and you would be hard pressed to find a better example. We have greatly enjoyed zipping around in it. feeling much faster than a standard Fiat 500 due to its very light weight. Considering that Genuine Ghia built Jollys routinely fetch massive money.
