My daughter and I visited Darlington Cars and Commercial on the recommendation of another car dealer who didn’t have cars within my daughter’s budget. We were immediately impressed with the warm but not pushy welcome we received from Jack. He showed us three cars which were priced closest to our budget. He listened to my daughter’s likes and dislikes, offered sound advice and didn’t put us under any pressure. My daughter was attracted to a Peugeot 208, which was a bit more expensive than she wanted to spend, but having driven it and been offered a tank of fuel, 12mths warranty, full MOT, we made the decision to purchase it. Jack also then offered to make up two new registration plates for Hannah’s personal number at no cost to us - an additional kind and most welcome offer. My daughter’s old car had already been advertised on Auto Trader but with little interest. A part exchange was offered by Jack but on the advice of Neil, the sales manager, we re-advertised on Facebook and reduced the asking price. We were enabled to delay the purchase of the new car while we sought a purchaser and within 24 hours we sold the old car for over twice the part ex offer. My daughter was obviously delighted. We were left feeling very impressed with the way both Jack and Neil advised us and handled the sale. Unfortunately, on the day we collected the car, an electric wing mirror was found not to be working, although it had worked on the test drive. We were advised to “drop in any time” to have it repaired but when we rang to say we were on our way a day or two later, we were told not to come that particular day and to come the next. We changed all our plans for those two days but when we eventually arrived we were then told the mechanic couldn’t just drop what he was doing to help us. We had a difficult and frustrating conversation with a member of staff after our wasted journey. We felt he was obstructive, unhelpful and unsympathetic. A short time after we got home, we received a call from Neil apologising for the situation, offering to collect our car the next day and to take it for us to have the repair fixed. Unfortunately, this was too late as my daughter was going away early the next day. The mirror remains inoperative but Neil has assured us that once she is settled in her new home in Edinburgh, he will send any parts required to a local garage and cover the cost of repair if she takes it in to be fixed. This seems to us to be a very reasonable offer to remedy the situation. Well done Neil and Jack. We have no hesitation in recommending Darlington Cars and Commercials.

We bought a used car and the service we received was brilliant. They brought the car all the way down to York for us to test drive, fixed a couple of problems, and then delivered it back to us - all very easy. After a few months another few problems were discovered and they agreed to fix these at cost price without charging labour - a big saving on what we would have had to pay at our local garage. So we are very happy customers - will know where to go the next time we want to buy a car 😊

Bought our Nissan note last week. Lovely car. Exactly as described. Very friendly people. Neil does an excellent job. Very friendly and professional. We traveled up from Halifax Neil picked us up at the Station. I would most definitely recommend buying a vehicle here. All quality cars at realistic prices.

My wife and I were looking for a small runabout that hit the sweetspot between age, mileage, price, and economy. On Monday, we wandered along to DCC and spotted a little Ford Ka that hit that sweetspot. Just picked it up this morning serviced with a years MOT and petrol in the tank. She was also clean inside and out. Friendly knowledgeable service. Thank you very much.

We bought our daughters 1st car for her 18th 2 years ago ( I thought I'd left a review back then, but must have forgot!). The car was immaculate and came serviced, MOT'd for 12 months and some warranty. After a few weeks the fan belt was squeaky and it rained in the drivers door ( after ridiculously heavy rain) and Neil had this sorted without quibble. Can't think of any garages doing this on a car out of manufacturers warranty and 10 years old. The car wasn't the cheapest, but the money was worth it for a car fit to drive, safe and in very good condition. You might find a similar car cheaper, but you might be soon spending on it after driving it away. Can't recommend DCC enough. It's since passed it's MOT twice without cost other than the MOT fee.

The customer service provided by Neil at DCC was really fantastic. Attending with my fianc\xe9 and baby in tow looking for a first family car, I felt immediately at ease dealing with Neil who clearly cared about us and understands that a used car going to a customer needs to be right before it goes out the door - even if that means waiting a few days for it to be prepared to that gold safe standard. This is an ancient review but around 15yr ago I bought a mitsubishi carisma from here on a 53 plate (hense it's an old review) It was a silver 1.9 diesel \xa32500 back then. I had that car 5 years and it was solid, it never let me down and it passed all 5 MOT with me with zero advisories in those 5 years. I've had a couple different cars since but that one always stood out as a solid reliable car
