After many years of being a car owner and changing my vehicles over that time, I had the peasure of dealing with Tony of Ackland Motor Garages, Swansea. He was pleasant, fair and sold me a car which was priced fairly and and overall for the good condition was an excellent deal. I thought this garage was ok when 1st bought my car December last year, everything was fine until the problems started, they done work as it was still under warranty, they wouldn't give me any evidence or paperwork of the work that they done which is strange as I asked quite a few times so i had no proof work was done properly. Then a few months down the line the work they done was rubbish and wasn't done properly. Then when I asked for them to have a look at the work that should have been done properly 1st time they wanted to charge me to fix the rubbish job they done in the 1st place... Just a greedy carsales man who acts like your friend but just wants your money. Be careful DONT TRUST THEM. It's funny how you reply to other people but when your in the wrong you hide away like a little muppet.. Absolutely disgusting service from this clown of a bloke

I used to use this garage regularly for all my cars and the service USED to be excellent. However the garage was taken over by new owners about 4 years ago and they seem intent on only one thing, making maximum profit whilst providing very poor customer service! The reception lady , Helen is very pleasant and helpful but the garage representative we spoke to, James, not so. I had an engine, gear box and differential oil change on my car. As I had an engine management light showing as well I asked for this to be checked and fixed. I also asked for a check on the brakes to be performed. When I went to pick up the car I was told that only the oils and filter had been changed. They had performed a visual check of the brakes and performed a diagnostic check of the engine but had not fixed it . What would you think would be a reasonable cost for the change of 3 types of oil. Even though they might of used specialist oil if you allowed \xa360 each for a 5 litre bottle this would come to \xa3180 for oil and allowing \xa360 per hour for labour, assuming it took them 2 hours to change the oil then you would be looking at \xa3300 top whack? I was charged \xa3541!!! How, why? Especially as the work I had initially asked to be done had not been done. I had not been told about this cost up front and so only found out about it when I went to pick up the car and pay. On top of this the bill listed a diagnostic check at \xa345 when I asked if I could have a printout of the codes that had been discovered which were causing the engine management light to come on (not an unreasonable question as far as I am concerned as it is a service I was being charged for) I was told that if I wanted the codes I should of gone elsewhere where much more money would be charged for that service? It was also suggested that if I wanted the codes I should of spent \xa35000 and bought my own diagnostic machine??? (I know that much cheaper ones are available that will give you codes). The garage representative at the time, James , then rudely walked off!! I will never use this garage again I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service.. Not Happy!!!!!!!

Terrible after sale service! We bought a car from them 6 months ago and initially when driving home from the garage the car started shaking uncontrollably within 10 minutes. We turned straight around and took the car back to them for them to diagnose the problem. The garage told us they had replaced the brake pad,discs and brake callipers and that the issue was resolved. Although the shaking was better it has never been perfect and we have spent money chasing down the issue from getting the wheel alignment checked and balancing. As we had thought the calliper had been changed, we were certain this could not have now been the problem. A week ago , the shaking started again to the point where we can’t drive the car more than 10 minutes without the brakes getting so hot that the car smells like it’s going to break out into a fire. We took the car to our local garage as we could not drive over an hour back to Acklands and they identified that the calliper was in fact never changed but just the brake pads and discs!! We called Ackland Motors and they then admitted they didn’t change the calliper because although they ordered the part initially, they sent it back because they decided they didn’t need too! Well obviously they did as it’s now been siezing consistently to the point where we also need new new brake discs and pads again! Acklands are washing their hands if it and won’t help at all! I’m pregnant and to think they’ve left us in a potentially dangerous car just because they wanted to save a bit of money at the time and cover up the issue! Ackland Motors, expect a complaint to be submitted to the Motor Ombudsman for your awful and appauling service! Pure greed!!!
