Cautionary Experience – Please Read Before Purchasing I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel a responsibility to share my experience in the hope that it helps others make a more informed decision. I purchased a used car from GC Car Sales in November. Within just a week, the car overheated on the motorway, leaving me in a very unsafe situation and causing me to miss a concert I’d been looking forward to for months. To their credit, GC Car Sales were initially helpful and took the car back to carry out repairs. However, this was only the beginning of an ongoing and incredibly stressful situation. Over the following months, the car continued to present serious issues that suggested deeper, undisclosed problems. There were several bodywork faults I hadn’t been informed about prior to the sale – including a misaligned passenger door and a bonnet that didn’t sit flush. The car was sold as HPI clear and was not listed as a CAT D or CAT S. However, a retired insurance assessor later informed me that the car appeared to have been in a serious accident and hadn’t been properly repaired. While it’s possible the dealership wasn’t aware of the full extent of the damage, I find it difficult to believe they wouldn’t have noticed such obvious flaws, given their experience with vehicles. GC did attempt to repair the car twice, but unfortunately, both times the issues returned almost immediately. They also suggested I was responsible for draining the battery by leaving lights on — despite telling me the battery was healthy and despite the car having automatic systems that prevent lights from staying on when locked. I know I hadn’t left anything running, so this added even more frustration to an already difficult situation. Throughout this period, I experienced considerable stress and anxiety. I had to borrow my grandma’s car just to get to work, putting her out and further highlighting how unreliable my own vehicle had become. Eventually, I had no choice but to sell the car at a significant loss — nearly half of what I initially paid — as it was difficult to find a buyer due to the ongoing problems. I’ve never been so relieved to see a car go, and I genuinely hope the new owner manages to get it into better shape, or manages to break it for parts — at least they were fully informed of its issues, which I wasn’t afforded. In hindsight, I blame myself and I wish I’d taken someone knowledgeable with me when buying the car and had a more thorough inspection done before purchasing. This review isn’t written out of spite — I just hope it helps others avoid going through the same experience I did.

We are French and we broke down in Lancaster during our holidays this garage collected our vehicle keep it for two days to make sure that there was no breakdown we found Scotte and his family very kind and very pleasant on the phone giving very clear explanations where we were made their honour we thank them and we keep a very good stay despite this misadventure let's keep a very good memory thanks to Scotte his professionalism and all his family business

paid 2500 for the car nothing but problems, only gave it a 2 star review as they took it back and fixed a few things but the car was sold to us supposedly with a mechanical check, a injector failed so they replaced 1 with a second had 1 and of course the rest failed and was out of warrenty, had all sorts wrong with it had to hand it over to the wreckers not even a year later. dont waist ur money

I had just been through a really bad car deal with cox motors , so I went to see GC motors , I bought a vauxhall mokka at a great price , it had a few hiccups, Scott said ( a man of his word) it will be sorted and it was , sometimes the little dealer needs respect, this couple will always have mine , fantastic people to deal with.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY... this is long overdue review but please be patient and read full review, I've bought ford Mondeo 2012 tdci titanium model in November 2022 yes two years ago car came with with 12 MOT and 6 Months AA warranty after buying car two weeks later engine fault light came on took it to local garage found DFP fuel evaporator sensor fault so I called garage panicking what will happen now as this sensor was costing around \xa3200 so thought scott will have thousand and one excuses but he said bring car around which I did two days later and I've been asked to leave car and they will look in to it, three days later I called again and they said car will be ready by weekend so I went to collect and I couldn't believe they replaced brand new sensor with 5 years written guarantee no question asked and never charged me single penny I was gob smacked, since it's been two years and believe me I have not spend even single penny on car not any kind of repair just normal service every six months and wear and tear like break tyres ect, I've done over 40k miles in two years and no trouble at all thank you scott also when I bought car I wanted timing belt and water pump change so I supplied parts and scott fitted without any labour charge what a top guy👍 definitely will purchase again in future when need excellent professional service very polite gentleman highly recommended. my apologies scott for very late review as car still runs fantastic so never thought about rate or posting review but just remembered today while talking to someone regarding buying car from garage and you crossed my mind so thought post review, thank you again and my regard to Louise and best wishes. Outstanding customer service. Amazingly kind people. Buying a car from these guys was a dream, despite being in Cornwall, it went without a hitch. Great communication, amazing car, genuinely kind and helpful people. I wasn't a simple customer - paid in chunks over several weeks, needed delivery to Cornwall, part- exchanging my car.... What can I say, absolutely fantastic people and customer service. My daughter bought a car earlier in the year and they were brilliant with her right from the beginning. So friendly and accommodating. Then unfortunately it developed a small fault, which involved a couple of visits, but they solved it without question or charge!! You just don't get service like this anymore anywhere!! Thank you so much. Can't recommend them enough!!👍😁
