Apply nowFailed to diagnose and fix a brake problem, and charged me for it. Took my car elsewhere and they saw the problem straight away and fixed it with ease. Also, the receptionist treats customers like they are scumbags. We are not scumbags. We are customers. After 20 years, I shall now be going elsewhere for my car repairs. Very disappointing to see it go downhill like this. What happened!?

Delt with these guys for years and continued to do so even when I moved out of the area. Honest and trustworthy.

I can not fault the mechanics always hard working and friendly BUT the receptionists are rude beyond acceptable, don't expect please thank you or a pleasant manner they clearly do not enjoy their work or want to support a local business, go elsewhere !!

Overcharged and Poor Communication I bought my car from this garage some time ago and recently returned for its MOT. The MOT flagged minor issues—non-working lights and a split CV boot. One long-standing issue was a rear tail lamp that fills with water when it rains. This has been happening since I purchased the car, and despite several visits, it was never properly fixed. It contributed to the MOT fail, and even now, only one side was replaced—the other still fills with water. The garage proceeded with additional repairs without properly informing me or asking for approval. While I was told the drive shaft might need replacing, there were no symptoms at all—no noise, vibration, or warning signs. On top of that, they replaced the knuckle joint (costing \xa3250) without any discussion or consent. In total, I was charged around \xa3600 for what were mostly minor MOT issues. For reference, replacing a split CV boot is a straightforward job that usually costs around \xa360 in service fees at most garages. Although they didn’t charge for the light repair (acknowledging it as an ongoing issue), it felt like that cost was simply recovered through other work. The lack of transparency and communication was very disappointing. Customers should always be informed and given a choice before major or costly repairs are carried out—especially when there’s no clear evidence that the part even needed replacing.

Absolutely amazing local garage. They were fully booked until next week but after dropping the car into them on the day they had it up and running great the following day as they fitted it around other jobs. Thanks again!
