Supercars are some of the fastest and most exciting cars on our roads.

They deliver lots of thrills and are the perfect vehicle for those who love driving and making a statement.

However, due to depreciation, there are several supercars that can be picked up for a fraction of the cost from when they were new, and are available through Cazoo.

So, if you fancy treating yourself to something exotic, fast and exciting, what are the most affordable second-hand supercars on the market?

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Aston Martin is one of the coolest, classiest and most prestigious brands in the whole of the automotive industry, and the V8 Vantage is its smallest supercar on offer.

The V8 Vantage is one of the best-looking cars on the road, thanks to its long bonnet, stubby rear haunches and glorious twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that develops 400bhp.

There is a choice of manual and automatic transmissions, while the V8 Vantage is regarded as an excellent supercar for beginners.

Second-hand examples represent excellent value for money too, priced at £27,995 for a 33,000-mile example from 2006.

Green Aston Martin DBS driving

Aston Martin DBS

The DBS is the V8 Vantage’s big brother, with its larger exterior proportions and more powerful 5.9-litre naturally-aspirated V12 powerhouse.

That engine produces 510bhp and can take the car to 60mph in 4.1 seconds, while the DBS tops out at 191mph.

The DBS is one of the most head-turning cars around, thanks to its sleek body, swooping bonnet and bold bodykit.

Mechanically, the DBS gained carbon-ceramic brake discs, adaptive dampers and lots of carbon fibre to help keep weight to a minimum.

Used examples on the second-hand market start from around £70,000 for a 2010 model with 29,000 miles.

Audi R8

The R8 is Audi’s first and only supercar. It sits on the same platform as the Lamborghini Gallardo, but is wrapped in a much more tame body, which makes it look like a larger Audi TT.

Early examples were fitted with a 4.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine, developing 414bhp, while later cars were available with a Lamborghini-derived 5.2-litre V10 that pumps out a healthy 518bhp.

There is also the option of a drop-top ‘Spyder’ variant, which gives you even better access to that V10 soundtrack.

The R8 also has a solid feel with a well-equipped interior and an impressive amount of space up front.

Second-hand values are affordable, with V8 cars on the market from £45,000, while V10 Spyder models can be picked up with average mileage for £48,000

BMW i8

The BMW i8 is a supercar that was ahead of its time when it was launched in 2014.

It came as standard with futuristic looks, swan-opening doors and a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

It was equipped with a mid-mounted 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor to develop a combined power output of 369bhp, while the on-board 7.1kWh battery pack meant that the car could travel a claimed 23 miles on electric power.

The i8 was also light, thanks to its carbon fibre chassis, and the car was extremely aerodynamic due to its slippery body shape.

If you fancy one of these quirky-looking supercars, prices on the used market start at £34,700 for a 37,000-mile example.

Ferrari F430

Ferraris are the pinnacle of supercar culture, and the Prancing Horse is a symbol of excitement, power and pedigree.

The F430 was launched in 2005 as a replacement for the older 360. It was powered by a 4.3-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine that produces one of the best engine notes of any production car, while 483bhp, 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 196mph meant it was one of the fastest cars on sale at the time.

As it’s a Ferrari, it oozes excitement, from its Formula One-style steering wheel with paddle-shift gearbox to its variety of carbon fibre components.

There is also the choice of two-door coupe and two-door drop-top ‘Spider’ models available.

Expect to pay around £85,000 for an ultra-low mileage coupe model, while Spiders can be picked up for around the same money.

McLaren MP4-12C

The McLaren MP4-12C kick-started the British firm’s model line-up back in 2011.

The MP4-12C was a direct rival to Ferrari’s 458 Italia, and was powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that made 592bhp and would allow the 12C to hit a top speed of 205mph.

The 12C featured a carbon fibre chassis, a twin-clutch gearbox and a hydraulically linked suspension setup, making it a much more comfortable proposition than you might think.

There’s a choice of two-door coupe and a two-door ‘Spider’ bodystyles, while used prices start at £70,000 for a 32,000-mile convertible, while coupes are priced higher at around £75,000 and £85,000.

The GT was the replacement for the gull-winged SLS supercar from 2010, and is wrapped up in a much more conventional package.

As it’s a Mercedes, it comes with a premium-feeling interior with bucket sports seats, a wraparound centre console and lots of standard kit.

It’s hooked up to a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that develops 469bhp, and 503bhp in the hot ‘S’ model.

Prices for a second-hand AMG GT start at £53,000 for a 27,000-mile example, while ‘S’ models can be picked up for £75,000.

Nissan GT-R

In its day, the Nissan GT-R was regarded as a ‘PlayStation on wheels’ next to the competition.

That’s because of its standard four-wheel drive system, complex on-board computer wizardry, and its role as the poster car for the ‘Gran Turismo’ racing game generation.

Fast forward nearly 20 years, and the GT-R has become a dinosaur in a world of electrified powertrains.

The GT-R is paired to a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that develops 473bhp and can allow this Nissan to hit 60mph in just 3.6 seconds.

It’s also practical for a car of its type with four usable seats and a 315-litre boot capacity, making it the ideal everyday supercar.

Second-hand values stand at £48,000 for a 2009 model with 39,000 miles and £53,000 for an ultra-low mileage example.

The Porsche 911 Turbo is one of the best all-round supercars, as it’s capable of being fast, refined, practical and dependable.

The Turbo is fitted with a rear-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat six engine that develops 420bhp and can get it to a top speed of 190mph, while its standard four-wheel drive system provides optimum traction wherever it goes.

Plus, the rear seats have enough space for small children, while there is an impressive amount of interior space with cubby holes. A front-mounted boot that provides 100 litres of luggage space, too.
