Crossovers are some of the most popular cars on our roads, and for good reason.
They offer the compact exterior dimensions of smaller cars, yet come with practical interiors, low running costs and high-driving positions.
There are several models out there on the second-hand market, which should be easy to live with and are all available on Cazoo.
So, if you’re thinking about making the move into a second-hand crossover, which ones should you consider?
We’ve compiled a list of the best examples on the used market today.
Toyota Yaris Cross
Toyota makes some of the best hybrids on the market and the Yaris Cross is one of them.
Not only does it look good, but it comes with lots of standard equipment, it’s good to drive and offers enough space inside for a family.
Under the bonnet, there is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor, which produces 116bhp and can achieve a claimed 55mpg on the combined cycle.
Second-hand prices for three-year-old examples are priced from £17,300 with vehicles covering less than 30,000 miles.

Dacia Duster
The Duster offers no-frills motoring along with a very practical interior cabin.
This budget-friendly crossover offers lots of space inside for occupants and provides a boot capacity of 445 litres or 1,623 litres with the rear bench folded down.
There is also the option of a four-wheel drive variant, and the second-generation Duster is also available with a ‘Bi-Fuel’ option, which features a 34-litre tank in the rear, containing ‘Liquid Petroleum Gas’, which is then mixed in with the standard fuel to lower emissions and improve fuel economy.
There are plenty of second-hand examples on Cazoo with a 2022 car with less than 21,000 miles on the clock priced at £11,800. However, if you want a Bi-Fuel model, you will need to spend around £12,200.
Ford Puma
The Ford Puma is one of Britain’s best-selling cars, and it really is a great choice for young families.
It’s based on the Fiesta supermini, giving it a sharper and sportier edge out on the road, while there is limited body lean around the bends, and all of the engines are frugal and efficient.
Inside, there are plenty of cubby holes to store people’s belongings and there is a 456-litre boot space.
You’re going to be spoilt for choice on the used market, as there are hundreds available with 2022 cars with low mileage priced from £13,350.

Skoda Kamiq
The Skoda Kamiq is a safe, sensible and practical crossover that also has a premium-feeling interior.
There are three trim levels available, with every model coming with a decent amount of standard equipment.
Plus, there is a choice of 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged and 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines on offer, which are frugal and efficient.
Inside, there are lots of handy cubby holes dotted about the place and the parking ticket holder on the windscreen, ice scraper in the fuel door and umbrellas in the front doors are all designed to make your life easier.
If you want a used example, low-mileage three-year-old cars are on the market priced from £11,700. However, a more powerful 1.5-litre car will set you back around £15,300.
Suzuki Vitara
The current iteration of Suzuki Vitara has been on sale since 2015, and in that time, very little has changed to the recipe.
The Vitara is a reliable, practical and capable family workhorse that has proved a popular choice here in the UK.
All models come with lots of standard equipment and there is even the option of Suzuki’s Allgrip four-wheel drive system.
If you want a second-hand Vitara, prices will vary depending on the age and mileage. Early 2017 cars with less than 25,000 miles on the clock will only cost you £12,100. However, newer 2022 cars will come with a punchier 1.4-litre turbocharged engine, and a low-mileage example of one of those will cost £12,500.
Four-wheel drive models are more expensive, with the cheapest low-mileage example on Cazoo priced at £15,800.

Renault Captur
The Renault Captur is a sensible and practical alternative in this overcrowded sector.
Ever since it was launched in 2013, the Captur has been one of the firm’s most popular models.
The second-generation car is bigger, features more on-board technology and is available with a range of petrol and hybrid powertrains.
There’s a decent amount of space inside for occupants and all models come with a generous amount of standard equipment.
Prices on the used market start at £12,150 for a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol example with less than 12,000 miles on the clock. However, if you want a hybrid model, you’ll have to increase your budget to around the £15,000 mark.

Volkswagen T-Roc
The Volkswagen T-Roc currently sits in Britain’s top 10 best-sellers list, and it’s not hard to see why.
Underneath, you’ll find the same underpinnings found in the Golf hatchback, which means the T-Roc drives like a normal car.
It’s also refined, comfortable and every powertrain is smooth, frugal and efficient. There are several different trim levels to choose from and there is even a hot ‘R’ model for the performance buyer.
Inside, there is enough space for a family and their belongings and there is a boot space capacity of 445 litres.
Second-hand prices start at £15,700 for a low-mileage three-year-old example; however, diesel models will set you back around £21,750 and if you can get your hands on an R model, prices come in at £26,100.
