Ducati Scrambler

Just passed your test and ready to get your motorcycle adventure underway? It’s an exciting prospect for sure and one which opens up a whole host of opportunities.

The good news is that there are plenty of motorcycles out there which are ideal for riders who have just passed their full licence examinations. Let’s check them out.

Ducati Scrambler

There are few bikes which bring as much character as those from Ducati and the Scrambler brings a good entry point into this Italian brand’s range of motorcycles. With a compact size and high-rise bars, it’s an easy bike to get up to speed with, while a smooth-shifting gearbox is a breeze to operate as well.

Standard bikes get an 803cc engine, which provides smooth, easy-to-judge performance. There’s a characterful exhaust note to accompany things, too.

Suzuki SV650

Suzuki SV650

Suzuki offers a great range of value-focused motorcycles and the SV650 is one of the best-suited models for new riders. It’s been a part of this Japanese firm’s range for a long time now, but with its easy controls and stylish good looks, it remains just as relevant as ever.

Lightweight and easy to move about, the SV650 is a stylish and approachable start to motorcycling

Honda CB650R

Honda has always provided a good range of motorcycles designed for those who are new to life on two wheels and the CB650R is a fine example of this. With a smooth 649cc inline four engine, the CB650R feels more than powerful enough to be a first ‘big’ bike, while its six-speed gearbox is snappy and easy to manage too.

Available in a range of colours, the CB650R is also available with an optional quickshifter to help make gear changes even smoother.

MT-07

Yamaha MT-07

Yamaha’s MT-07 is something of a go-to in the entry-level motorcycle category. It’s a lightweight and agile option with a punchy 689cc engine which provides decent, punchy performance. Its light weight means that the MT-07 is agile through the bends and confidence-inspiring for those who may need it.

The MT-07 also comes with sharp looks and a range of colourway options which are bound to turn heads.

BMW F800GS

While BMW may have a broad range of big-engined motorcycles, the F800GS caters for those who may not have been travelling on two wheels for long. It’s one of the smallest bikes in the ‘GS’ range of adventure-focused models, but this makes it ideal for riders who fancy a more upright motorcycle but without too much weight.

Smooth-riding and with lots of standard features, the F800GS is your ideal ‘starter’ adventure motorcycle.

Trident 660

Triumph Trident 660

Triumph might be known for its large-engined motorcycles like the Bobber and Street Triple, but it’s also got a series of accomplished bikes that are ideal for newer riders. Take the Trident 660. It’s got a stylish exterior, well-finished controls and a lightweight design, as well as a punchy 660cc triple which provides a great sound and lots of performance.

The Trident blends some old-school looks with a distinctly modern naked aesthetic to create a bike which looks really smart, too.
