Cazoo pledges up to £50,000 support for the Aston Villa Foundation

…donating £1,000 for every Premier League goal scored

Cazoo, Aston Villa’s new shirt sponsor and principal partner, has today announced that it will donate £1,000 to The Aston Villa Foundation, the Club’s official charity, for every goal scored by the first team in the Premier League this season. This new ‘Golden Goals’ charitable initiative could raise up to £50,000 for the charity this season.

The ‘Golden Goals’ got off to a flying start on Monday thanks to Ezri Konsa’s pinpoint header against Sheffield United in the opening game of the season with the Aston Villa Foundation benefitting from a £1,000 ‘Golden Goals’ donation from Cazoo, which will help to continue to deliver its mission of ‘Working Together to Enrich Lives’.

Cazoo, the UK’s leading online car retailer, which makes buying a car as easy as buying any other product online today, was announced as the Club’s new main partner at the end of the 2019/20 season and immediately started speaking to the Aston Villa Foundation after hearing about its impact and work across Birmingham and will now become an official partner of the Club’s charitable arm.

The Foundation works with a range of partners for the benefit of people from a variety of backgrounds in Birmingham and the wider community. The Foundation team runs around 250 sessions over seven days a week and thousands of people benefit from its projects which help get people more active, live healthy lifestyles, encourage education, training and skills, and contribute to safer, stronger communities.

Ezri Konsa, whose goal on Monday secured a first donation for the Foundation, added: “I’m delighted to have played a part in this initiative. Hopefully the Foundation will benefit from it across the whole season.”

 The Aston Villa Foundation delivers the community and social responsibility work of Aston Villa Football Club and the partnership with Cazoo will also see both organisations work on a series of Corporate Social Responsibility and employee engagement initiatives.
