Cazoo Football Derby provides fans a chance to win a car worth £10,000

…and gives Club charities a chance to double matchday donations

Cazoo, the UK’s leading online car retailer, which makes buying your next car as simple and seamless as purchasing any other product online, is offering Everton and Aston Villa fans the chance to win a Cazoo car up to the value of £10,000 at this week’s ‘Cazoo Football Derby’.

Aston Villa v Everton is the most-played fixture in English top-flight football history and the two teams met for the first time in 1888. As the proud sponsors of both Aston Villa and Everton, who meet for the second time this season on Thursday, Cazoo are not taking sides but will be testing fan’s football knowledge in the online Cazoo Football Derby Quiz which runs from 4pm until the 6pm kick-off on Thursday 13 May, with the winner at the top of the leaderboard at kick-off being given any Cazoo car worth up £10,000.

The quiz will consist of 20 football-related questions, equally split to test fans' knowledge about each of Everton and Villa, with one entry allowed per fan. The fastest responses to all 20 questions will earn a place on the leaderboard with the winner being the quickest overall respondent.

Cazoo, who are already donating £1,000 to each Club’s charity foundation for every Premier League goal scored this season and have so far given £98,000 to Everton in the Community and The Aston Villa Foundation, will also double the matchday donation at this week’s Cazoo Football Derby to £2,000 per goal.

Cazoo is pioneering the shift to online car buying in Europe and since being founded in 2018, has sold over 20,000 cars to consumers across the UK who have embraced the selection, transparency and convenience of buying quality used cars entirely online.

Cazoo owns and reconditions all its cars before offering them for sale for either delivery or collection in as little as 72 hours. Already the leading online car retailer in the UK, Cazoo is also Europe’s leading car subscription player with over 6,000 subscribers across the UK, France and Germany.

Cazoo has recently become one of the UK’s most active sports sponsors with an impressive portfolio of partnerships that now includes two Premier League football teams, The Hundred cricket, the EFL, the Rugby League World Cup, the Derby, the St Leger festival and the World Snooker Tour.

Alex Chesterman OBE, Founder & CEO of Cazoo said, “We’re delighted to be closely associated with both clubs, but this means we will very much be sitting on the fence this Thursday and not taking sides. As fans won’t be able to enjoy the game in person, we’re excited to offer the opportunity for one lucky fan to win a car before kick-off on Saturday. And we are looking forward to hopefully seeing lots of goals during the Cazoo Football Derby to benefit both Everton in the Community and The Aston Villa Foundation.”

Richard Kenyon, Everton in the Community Chief Executive Officer said: “We are very appreciative to Cazoo for the generosity shown with ‘Goals for Good’ so far this season. The team have helped net a considerable amount through ‘Goals for Good’ this season and I really hope this Thursday we can nudge that total up further with Cazoo’s double donation offer.”

Guy Rippon, Head of the Aston Villa Foundation said, “Cazoo has already shown a clear commitment to supporting the local community here in Aston and the wider areas. We’re enjoying working with them and helping priority groups and tackling societal issues across Birmingham. Fingers crossed for a high scoring game.”

About Everton in the Community

Everton in the Community is one of the UK's top sporting charities and is considered one of the Premier League's leading community schemes due to the quality and reach of its programmes.

Recently visited by The Duke of Cambridge to find out more about its work and how it uses its influence to support its fans and community and address key social issues affecting the local community, the Club’s official charity has been at the forefront of social intervention across the Liverpool City Region since 1988.

Everton Football Club resides in the Kirkdale ward of Liverpool, which is in the most deprived 5% of neighbourhoods nationally. More than half of the children in the area live in poverty while the area in general faces challenges such as high unemployment, crime and health, housing and education problems.

The charity’s programmes support people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds from over 130 venues across the city region. From delivering the Premier League Primary Stars programme to school children to supporting the elderly members of the Liverpool community who are suffering from social isolation, Everton in the Community is open and inclusive to all.

About the Aston Villa Foundation

The Aston Villa Foundation is a registered charity that delivers the community and social responsibility work of Aston Villa Football Club.

The Foundation and its partners work with people from a variety of backgrounds in Birmingham as well as supporting the wider ‘Aston Villa family’ through several departments including schools, football in the community, disability, health and wellbeing, education, interventions and community relations.

The area around Villa Park is one of the most socially and economically challenged areas in Birmingham, and we aim to help improve the lives of people in the local community and make sure that they are aware of the work that we do and the support that we are able to offer.
Working alongside key local and national stakeholders, the Foundation delivers projects, initiatives and provides opportunities to achieve its mission of ‘Working Together to Enrich Lives’.
