Ford Escort 1983 - XR3i 3dr

1983 Ford Escort XR3i 5 Speed model. UK car with only 56000 miles from new. We have the V5 showing 7 previous owners, some old MOTs from 2012 to 2018. Prior to 2012 we are told it was in storage for a long time. There are a couple of original handbooks, but no service book and some old receipts for work done. Its a really tidy example and all the bit that are normally bad on these are good on this car.Body - Very solid shell . Did have a bit work back in 2011/ 2012 underneath but all looks solid. Car has been heavily waxoyled to protect it. Battery tray is good, as is the spare wheel well, sills, floors, inner wings etc. Paintwork is very tidy with only a few very minor marks. Good bumpers, spotlights, lights, XR3i side decals fitted. Sunroof works perfectly and their is no discolouration or rusty marks round the inside of the glass.Mechanics - Starts , runs and drives as it should and everything works apart from the original radio. Engine is quiet, brakes, full service including timing belt, water pump, and new fuel tank were done about 3000 miles ago. More recently its had front bilstein struts,rear kyb shocks, track control arms, spherical bearing top mounts, high output starter, battery and a stainless exhaust. It had a further oil and filter change last monthInterior - All standard and in fantastic condition. No cracks on dash, seats are very nice, good headlining, door cards and carpets.Wheels - RS1600i wheels fitted with good tyres.
