Ford Cortina 1962 - 2 Door

2 Previous Owners, Ford Cortina Mk1 2 Door Deluxe fitted with a 1600 crossflow and has had a few upgrades.Its a really early car being a 1962 model and comes with its short non suffix number plate. It was imported from South Africa a few years ago and has had a few quid spent on it. We have the V5 here.Body - Export spec 2 door shell with strengtheners across the strut tops. Good original inner wings, floors, sills, arches. Only ever had a small repair in passenger side boot well otherwise all original. Structurally this car is about as good and original as youll get for a 63 year old car. Paintwork is fairly tidy. Perfectly presentable. If you wanted a show queen youd need to paint it but very presentable as it is. Front bumpers and rear bumper have recently been replaced, mirrors replaced. Grille is very straight and clean. Front windscreen rubber was also replaced. Opening rear quarter windows as standard on SA spec cars.Mechanics - 711M crossflow fitted which has been bored out, mild cam fitted, replacement twin choke weber. mexico gearbox with remote shift, hydraulic clutch, lowered at the rear 2 inches, escort struts, capri vented discs, replacement calipers. Car starts runs and drives very well. It has been converted from positive earth to negative earth and although the battery charges ok the red light on instrument cluster stays on. If you leave it lying for a few days the battery will drain down so we usually disconnect the terminal. Sportex exhaust fitted. Was for an Escort but modified to fit the Cortina.Interior - All original and in good order. Headlining and door cards are very good. Drivers seat a little worn but perfectly useable.Wheels - Lotus style steel wheels with good 186/60/13 tyres.This car is not perfect but is very very good for a 63 year old car.
