Ford Cortina 2025 - GL

1 Previous Owner, 1982 Ford Cortina 1.6 GL. This car was imported from South Africa some time ago and was sold to one of our customers, whos retired. He went right through the car mechanically, fitting lots of new parts and also upgraded to a five speed box. Now that the cars finished , hes looking for another project, so he done a deal with us for something else. We have the V5 showing 1 previous UK owner, which was us. Body - SA spec Cortina MK5 shell. All original panels and never been welded. Car is very solid underneath. Only thing to note is a bit of bubbling on lower rear quarters at the back under the bumper, otherwise a really clean shell. Paintwork looks original and in the main is good. Few light scratches picked up over the years but they are only original once as they say. SA spec full metal chrome bumpers. New headlights, rear lights, spotlights, badges, grille replaced, chrome trim in window seals replaced.Mechanics - Car starts, runs and drives like it should. The customer that had it is very handy with the spanners and went right through the car, so its on the button ready to go anywhere. Being an SA model this is a factory fitted 1600 crossflow, rather than a Pinto. Its had the following parts replaced, steering rack, track rod ends, front bushes, starter motor, speedo cable, mph speedo fitted, upgraded to 5 speed box, clutch, propshafy, brake cylinders, flexi pipes, heater system flushed out, oil pump, filter, plugs, points, condenser, full exhaust. As you can see a right few quid has been spent on this meaning that the next owner should not have to. With this car being SA spec its got a five link rear set up, which makes them handle a bit better than the equivalent UK model.Interior - Good dash top, door cards, carpets, headlining.Seats have no rips or tears but front seats have been replace at some point.Wheels - Deep dish steels with chrome trim rings and centre caps and new 205/60/13 tyresVery original old car which is ready to drive away.You are welcome to come and see the car. we have a ramp so you can look underneath.
