This Reliant Scimitar SE4 coupe that was first registered in the UK on 22 September 1966. It has the 6-cylinder Ford engine (2,553 cc) mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Our vendor, inspired by an article in Classic Cars (on file), acquired this Scimitar in December 2009. Although a UK car it was at that time owned by a motoring journalist/photographer in Holland (still on UK plates). He had purchased the car in 2002.Part of the appeal of this particular Scimitar was the fact that it had received a full body-off, engine out restoration in the 1980s/1990s (there is a photo album showing the restoration). The other appealing factor was that the car looked stunning finished in bright red sitting on wire wheels very similar to the car that featured in the Classic Cars article.
