Morris Mini 1961 - Minor 850

1960 Built Morris Mini Minor 850. Comes with a confirmed Heritage Certificate build-date of 30th Nov - 7th Dec 1960. Registered as 199 XVB, the car was supplied by BMC dealer Caffyns Ltd to its first owner on 09/01/1961. It underwent a sympathetic restoration in 2018 and was auctioned in 2024. It was then part of a competition run by UK Minis and we bought it from the winner. We have the V5 and heritage certificate but nor a lot of other paperwork.Body - Early Morris Mini. Very sold underneath. Evidence of a few previous repairs on floors and boot floor but needs nothing doing now. Paintwork was said to be refinished in Honolulu Blue but heritage certificate says Clipper Blue??. Paintwork is very nice and the car presents very well. Couple of bits showing through on roof gutters but otherwise a very good looking early carMechanics - Car starts, runs and drives very well. Good quiet engine with no smoke. Brakes, clutch and gearbox are all good. Car was said to have been given a sympathetic restoration in 2018 but we do not have details of what work was carried out. Interior - Retrimmed in Tartan Red. Early push button start, long gearlever and early white speedo with the bigger needle. Very tidy car inside.Wheels - Cooper S Rose petal style wheel finished in Old English White with very good tyres.Lovely example of an early Mini which appear to have had a fortune spent on it.
