With only 100 cars produced this limited edition by Prodrive includes quichshift gearbox, larger exhaust, high flow fuel pump, prodrive sports suspension with lower ride height, anti roll bar at the rear, new Prodrive wheels and most important of all the superb Prodrive Performance Pack with 40 extra BHP taking this car to within a whisker of the 280 BHP of the top JDM Sti's.The body also recieved some upgrades to the front grille with added mesh and extended bodykit. As a factory option Alcantara is fitted to our car which adds further to its appearance and desireability.We got this car from the owner who moved house only to find that his car was rarely required. But just prior to that he over the last few years managed to spend circa of £12000 replacing everything that was required without barely turning a wheel. Bought a 1980 1600 Sport from Fairmont in September that was advertised as having a full internal, external and mechanical restoration. It ran out of fuel inside the ferry terminal in Belfast as the fuel gauge was faulty. Thankfully we hadn’t reached the 5-lane motorway a mile from the terminal. This could have been serious as the hazzard warning light switch was missing. On driving home there was a very harsh vibration coming from the car which makes it undrivable. A World Cup crossmember was fitted which is for rally cars, not road cars & the wheels were hitting the rear wheel arches as the wrong tyres were fitted. We noted the temperature gauge wasn’t working. For a classic car this is critical. We also found botched wiring that we had to fix. This was advertised as a fully restored car and ready for sale. It wasn’t. The reason I didn’t come and look at the car was that both myself and my brother spoke to Adam on several occasions and he assured us that the car was in A1 condition. If we had come and looked at the car, it would have broken down on a test drive and we would have walked away, but we took what Adam said on good faith. And it turned out the car wasn’t roadworthy and some of the faults, especially the botched wiring and the fuel and temperature gauges not working, are dangerous. Staff at Fairmont have been no help other than to refund me a paltry \xa3200 which doesn’t come close to the expense I am out. My experience with Fairmont has been both disappointing and traumatic due to the botched work and the quality of the restoration.
