The style of the car

The Vauxhall Adam is a cool three-door city car with a lot of personality. It features lots of personalisation for new buyers, from colours to equipment, so finding a used one that suits you should be easy. There are even models with a stunning LED starlight interior roof. Then there’s the Adam Rocks which has crossover attitude.

How it drives

The Vauxhall Adam is really zippy in the city, with a number of great turbocharged engines available, including the Adam S. All cars are front-wheel drive making city motoring and parking easy. The Adam is great fun to drive.

The interior

Boot space is similar to some other of its small city car rivals. The Adam is able to cope with the weekly grocery shopping or a few soft weekend bags and the three-door design still provides good access for four people. The interior design is superb with great colour schemes and lots of equipment, including a touchscreen infotainment system on some with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Adam S has a sportier look and feel to it, while the Adam Rocks features go-anywhere attitude in the style of a crossover.

Running costs and reliability

As a city car, one of the main characteristics of the Adam is that it’s inexpensive to run. Featuring economical engines and start/stop technology on some models, it returns excellent fuel consumption. Running costs such as insurance and road tax are similar to rivals as are servicing and maintenance costs. Reliability is also very good and there’s a wide network of Vauxhall dealers available. The Adam achieved a four star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.

How it compares with similar cars

The Vauxhall Adam is smaller than the Vauxhall Corsa supermini. Its cool colour schemes and high level of equipment make it similar to the popular and more expensive Fiat 500 and Mini. It’s so stylish it’s even won a Red Dot international design award.
