Thinking of buying a used Skoda Octavia?
Cazoo has a range of Skoda Octavia cars for sale. If you're thinking of buying or financing a used Skoda Octavia, we answer any questions you might have below.
The style of the car
The Skoda Octavia is available as a hatchback and an estate. All models have five doors and five seats and feature the biggest boot in the class. If you want a no-nonsense car that excels on many fronts, the Octavia is highly recommended.
How it drives
The Octavia is an excellent car. Around town, it’s easy to drive and park while on the motorway it’s so smooth and quiet the miles pass by unnoticed. The Octavia can easily haul a caravan or horsebox and was a winner at the Tow Car Awards.
The interior
The Octavia offers lots of space and will comfortably fit three adults across the rear seats. There’s plenty of leg and head room and it’s easy to get in and out. The hatchback’s boot is very large and you could fit six average-sized suitcases in. As for the estate, you could pack enough luggage for a couple of families in there and still have room to spare. Fold the seats down, and it turns into a little van. That makes it a great active lifestyle car so, whether you’re into mountain biking or hang gliding, it’ll cope with your gear with ease. Skodas are generously equipped as standard with a touch screen and a DAB digital radio.
Running costs and reliability
The Octavia offers so much for so little. Compared to rivals, it’s very keenly priced and there’s plenty around to suit all budgets. The Octavia is also very affordable to run: fuel economy is high and tax, insurance and maintenance costs are low. The Octavia is so reliable it was named the Best Compact Car in the JD Power Dependability Study. It’s also highly rated on safety and was given a five-star Euro NCAP award.
How it compares with similar cars
The Octavia sits in the middle of the Skoda range. It’s bigger than the Fabia small car and smaller than the Superb large family car. Its two main rivals are the Vauxhall Insignia and Ford Mondeo, but it’s bigger than both of these and less expensive to buy. Unsurprisingly, the Octavia’s won several awards including What Car’s 2019 Family Car of the Year.
Skoda Octavia common questions
The Octavia offers masses of space and driving appeal at superb prices. It’s excellent value for money but without any compromises.
Skoda has an excellent reputation for reliability and has scored well in recent car satisfaction surveys. Owners love their Octavias.
The Octavia is very affordable to buy and run. Fuel costs, tax, insurance and maintenance are all low and with the Octavia’s strong reliability record you shouldn’t encounter any issues.
Practicality is what the Octavia does best. With a huge boot and roomy interior, the Octavia is a very easy car to live with, whether you need the space for a family or your active lifestyle.
The Octavia is more spacious than every direct rival yet it’s less expensive to buy and run. It’s very difficult to criticise the Octavia, especially in terms of value.
