Thinking of buying a used Renault Clio?

Cazoo has a range of Renault Clio cars for sale. If you're thinking of buying or financing a used Renault Clio, we answer any questions you might have below.

The style of the car

The Renault Clio is one of the UK’s most popular small cars. It’s evolved into a handsome, spacious and modern hatchback. Depending on the age of the model you buy, you can choose from a sportier three-door car or a more practical five-door.

How it drives

With precise steering, good handling and comfortable suspension, the Clio is great to drive whether in town or on the motorway. It’s also easy to park because of its short dimensions, while a high seating position allows you to see the road clearly.

The interior

The Renault Clio has plenty of room inside and even adults will enjoy the space in the rear. The boot is large with a good square shape, so it will hold a couple of large suitcases easily. Entry-level Expression models get Bluetooth and phone connectivity but for a touch screen infotainment system, you’ll need to choose the Dynamique Nav version.

Running costs and reliability

You’ll have no trouble finding a used Renault Clio to match your budget as there are plenty around. With a range of very efficient diesel and petrol engines, it won’t cost a lot to fuel. If you need to travel longer distances go for the diesel, but if it’s mainly town driving you’re doing, stick to the petrol engines. Both insurance and tax are low for the Clio while servicing is very reasonable. You shouldn’t have many issues with the Clio either. In JD Power’s 2019 Dependability study, Renault came above more expensive car brands such as Audi. As for safety, Renault has an excellent reputation and the Clio scored the full five stars in Euro NCAP’s crash test results.

How it compares with similar cars

The Clio is larger than the Twingo and smaller than the Megane in Renault’s range. The Ford Fiesta and the Volkswagen Polo are its closest competitors, but the Clio costs less and has an interior with a soft touch dashboard that feels premium. The Clio has won several awards from the experts at Auto Express and What Car?
