Thinking of buying a used Mini Countryman?
Cazoo has a range of Mini Countryman cars for sale. If you're thinking of buying or financing a used Mini Countryman, we answer any questions you might have below.
The style of the car
The Mini Countryman is a five-door crossover that blends the typical Mini fun factor with the added space and practicality you’d expect from a larger car. It still has all the design and driving characteristics of the popular hatchback but with enough space for a dog or several large suitcases. In the case of the all-wheel drive versions, you’ll also get SUV-like off-road capability, which will help you tackle muddy fields and forest tracks.
How it drives
The Mini Countryman is great fun to drive. It feels a lot like the hatchback, and its engines are powerful enough to keep up with traffic, even with that boot fully laden. Elevated ground clearance and all-wheel drive, available on some models, gives drivers better visibility and stability on and off road. The Countryman is smaller than an SUV which means it’s compact enough for city driving and is easy to park. The diesel models are suitable for towing, and those who want sports car speed and handling should pick the sporty ‘JCW’ version.
The interior
Larger than the Mini five-door hatchback, the Countryman is still compact enough to cope well with urban and rural motoring. Its taller roof provides plenty of headroom and there’s space for five people. The boot is more than large enough for a pushchair or a few large suitcases. The interior has a slightly retro feel, albeit with all the latest technology and a great infotainment system. With lots of personalisation options on a new car, there will be one to suit you when buying used. Cooper S and JCW models have an even sportier look and feel, both inside and outside, to match their performance.
Running costs and reliability
The Mini Countryman comes at a price that’s similar to rivals. The engines are economical, while insurance and road tax costs are generally low. Servicing and maintenance costs are good and reliability is excellent. Safety is excellent too with the latest driver-assist systems and a five-star rating from Euro NCAP.
How it compares with similar cars
The Countryman is much larger than Mini’s hatchback. Its five doors and spacious interior make it a great choice for those who need something practical, but want something fun. It’s smaller than SUVs such as the Ford Kuga, and is similar to the crossover style of the Mercedes GLA. It’s definitely a lot more fun than any of its rivals.
Mini Countryman common questions
If you’re looking for a car with loads of character, a great drive and plenty of space and practicality, then the Countryman is a great choice.
Mini does really well in customer satisfaction surveys like JD Power and the Countryman is no exception.
Like all Mini models, the Countryman is inexpensive to run and you shouldn’t need to visit the fuel pumps often.
With lots of flexible interior space, higher ground clearance and compact crossover dimensions, the Countryman is as practical as it is fun.
The Countryman outclasses all its rivals when it comes to style, fun and everything that makes a Mini so desirable.
