The Land Rover Discovery Sport feels like a Range Rover but at a much lower price. It’s wonderfully versatile with loads of space and seven seats. It has practical features and offers a comfortable, soothing drive. It also has the ability to drive off-road on a variety of surfaces and is a great tow car.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport is a five-door SUV with upmarket looks. It's long enough to provide enough interior space for up to seven people, but still compact enough for city or rural motoring. A wide range of models ensures styling to suit all tastes.
The Discovery Sport is available with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines, each delivering power and fuel economy. They also help to make the Land Rover a great vehicle for towing. Being smaller than a Discovery, the Sport is compact enough to cope well with city driving. Great all-round visibility of the road and a range of parking aids make it easy to park.
Despite being a full seven-seater, the five-door Land Rover Discovery Sport is quite compact. It’s still spacious inside though, even for kids sat in the third row. With the rear seats in place the boot will accommodate the weekly groceries or school run gear, but fold them down and there’s ample space for a number of large suitcases. Entry-level models have a good level of equipment but you’ll find more in the SE or HSE. The top of the range R-Dynamic models have the most equipment with a sporty look.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport offers a premium look and feel without the premium price tag, making it excellent value for money when buying used. The diesels are the most economical but all engines deliver consumption similar to rivals. Insurance and road tax costs are competitive. Fixed price servicing costs on models older than three years helps to manage the budget. Reliability is about the same as other Land Rover models, which is improving, while safety is superb with a full five-star rating from Euro NCAP.
The Discovery Sport is smaller and less expensive than the Land Rover Discovery, but still offers lots of space for luggage and passengers. The availability of the third row of seats, together with Land Rover’s legendary off-road ability, sets it apart from rivals like the Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60. It was given the Most Popular SUV award from website Honest John.
The Discovery Sport is perfect for those with an adventurous spirit and who need up to seven seats. It has a luxury look and feel, while still being competitively priced.
Reliability is similar to other Land Rover models.
Efficient engines and competitive servicing prices make the Discovery Sport running costs similar to rivals.
A well designed and spacious interior, as well as a great boot and excellent off-road ability make the Discovery Sport a very practical choice.
Space for seven, great off-road ability and a Range Rover luxury feel to the driving position and interior design, set it apart from rivals.
