Thinking of buying a used BMW X3?

Cazoo has a range of BMW X3 cars for sale. If you're thinking of buying or financing a used BMW X3, we answer any questions you might have below.

The style of the car

The X3 is a modern BMW SUV with a practical five-door design that’s both upmarket and sporty. With a wide range of model choices, there should be something to suit your style and budget. It’s great to drive on the road but has good ground clearance if you want to venture off-road across fields or tracks. The latest generation arrived in 2018 with a great look and feel as well as the newest technology.

How it drives

BMW engineers all its cars to be great to drive and the X3 is no exception. All versions have a good driving position with excellent visibility of the road. Automatic versions are the easiest to live with on a daily basis. There are plenty of parking assistance systems which help make the X3 easy to park. All models are very capable tow vehicles.

The interior

The BMW X3 is a big car which is a similar size as its rivals. The interior is well designed and spacious with ample room for five adults. The boot will easily accommodate several large suitcases while folding the seats down opens up loads more space. Entry-level models come well equipped with a good infotainment system and cruise control. Many new buyers will also have fitted a number of options which will mean these cars will provide even more value bought as used. Trim lines offer the choice of more luxury, technology or, in the case of the M Sport packages, performance.

Running costs and reliability

A used BMW X3 is great value for money. Diesels are the most economical to drive but the turbocharged petrol engines are also economic and there’s a choice of front-wheel drive or BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive. Insurance and road tax costs are similar to rivals, as are servicing and maintenance costs. Reliability of the X3 has been improved greatly by BMW and Euro NCAP gave the X3 a maximum five-star safety rating.

How it compares with similar cars

The BMW X3 is larger than the compact SUV BMW X1 and smaller than the large SUV BMW X5. It’s a perfect solution if you want a big family car that can still comfortably navigate around small city streets or country lanes. It’s better to drive than its rivals, the Audi A5 and Volvo XC60. The X3 is such a good all-rounder that it was named Premium Mid-size SUV of the Year by Auto Express magazine.
