After more than seven months, the UK’s third national lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic is expected to come to an end on the 19th July 2021. While many businesses had to reduce their services or close entirely during the lockdown, car service and MOT centres could remain open.
During the first lockdown in 2020, owners of cars that were due their MOT were granted an extension of six months to restrict movement and help prevent the spread of the virus. However, the government confirmed that another extension would not be granted when the third lockdown was imposed in January 2021.
So, if your car’s MOT is due to expire while lockdown restrictions are in place, you can and must get it tested. It’s also worth noting that, if you were granted an MOT extension in 2020, you should have had your car tested by 31 January 2021 at the latest. Our Cazoo Service Centres offer a range of servicing and MOT options at a competitive and transparent price.
