Cazoo appoints Julio Ribes as Country Manager for Spain

Barcelona, 9 March 2022. Cazoo (, Europe’s leading online car retailer, which makes buying and selling a car as simple and seamless as ordering any other product online, has appointed Julio Ribes as Country Manager in Spain.

Julio has a proven track-record within the automotive industry and was the CEO & co-founder of Swipcar, Spain’s leading consumer car subscription marketplace, which Cazoo acquired in 2021. Prior to that he worked for well established companies such as, Ford and Seat-Volkswagen group. In the years before that, he graduated in industrial engineering and holds an international MBA from IESE Business School.

Julio will join the European Leadership Team and will report into Cazoo’s European Managing Director, Abhishek Roy, and will be responsible for growing the team and business in Spain over the coming months as Cazoo executes on its European expansion.

Cazoo was founded in 2018 by British entrepreneur Alex Chesterman and is one of the fastest growing businesses in Europe, pioneering the shift to online car buying. It listed on the NYSE last year and has already built a world class team of over 4,000 across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Cazoo has sold over 50,000 cars online since its launch just over two years ago, as consumers have embraced the selection, value, transparency and convenience of buying used cars fully online. It launched in 2019 in the UK and more recently launched in France and Germany last December.
